I have a standard rectangular closet. I hang jeans, slacks, shorts, tops. Shoes are on a built in shoe shelf system. Off season shoes are in clear shoe boxes on the top shelf. My bed sheets are in baskets on the top shelf. Pajamas, socks, lingerie, jewelry are in bureau drawers outside of the closet. My closet isn't huge, and I have plenty of clothes, but I don't have any excess, except for shoes, so everything fits and stays unwrinkled.

NICE closet!!! I was not happy with any shoe storage options out there. But one day 20 years ago I found a milky-clear 4-drawer plastic dresser. It's made of a Tupperware-type of plastic. Each drawer is about 10" tall, and the dresser accommodates my 24 pairs of shoes, sole side down. It's very compact, and doesn't look bad INSIDE my closet. It hasn't even yellowed yet. I always tell myself that I can't buy new shoes if they won't fit in my shoe dresser. Ankle boots go in a bin, as do slippers.

Love your closet - you have a lot of (adorable!) clothes but your system is neat and cozy. Grabbed some of those foldable container store cloth bins off your amazon page to store seasonal wear on the top shelf in my closet. Closets are one of those spaces that I must have organized or I go nuts! The bags-within-bags strategy is also efficient - especially for luggage, shoulder bags and backpacks. Showing us your "skivvies" drawer! Ha, ha, ha! Girl, you are hilarious! I always keep on top of laundry. The majority of my wardrobe items can be washed together in cold water. The moment I have one load, I do laundry. When the load has completed being dried, I usually immediately fold and put away, or hang up my clothes. I can't stand looking at dirty laundry.

I love the shelf with your jewelry dish & mirror...I have a jewelry organizer...but, I love the little dish with pairs of earrings that you can’t hang...this way it will be easier to grab earrings faster!! What a great excuse to shop for a little dish!! Lol 😂 I also like to color & categorize/coordinate my closet!! It is a total game changer!!

My biggest closet woe is that my bedroom closets have to do double duty for clothes, bedding and towels, so I use the upper shelves for bedding and towels and my shoes are in their original boxes on the floor. My closets are smaller than yours.

Loved this vid Kay, really nicely laid out, especially the on-screen tips. I think a rolling barn door could look great for your closet- maybe with a mirror on one or even both sides? I so wish I had an actual closet but have fully embraced the folding technique as I don't have space for a wardrobe. My in-bedroom 'closet' is a four tier metal shelving unit with top shelf as vanity stand, six labelled fabric storage boxes stacked two to a shelf: underwear, socks, long sleeve tops. t-shirts, accessories and extra toiletries. And on each tier next to them a larger open bin for jumpers, trousers and nightwear. Two pairs of shoes and two pairs of slippers sit under the bottom shelf on the floor. Then I have two under-bed boxes: one for linens and one for seasonal clothing. Gotta love small space living :-) Have a wonderful weekend and give the Bean a hug for me :-) p.s. my new kitchen shelving arrives next week hopefully!

Nail two wooden lid/plate organizers to closet walls, with sticks on same height and store hats between them horizontally. Not much saving space in it but hats won't get hurt.

I have an Elfa closet, but I can’t figure out the inside drawer dividers, they move around and fall over and just wont stay put, so they seem to be quite useless. Do you have any tricks?
