@@grenvillephillips6998 The way he pronounces Citroën in his DS review is the least bastardized version. Just listen to a Citroën commercial and you'll get the "Paris French" version of pronouncing it. But mind in Brittany, Provence etc pronounciations might differ. Am Dutch myself and in France I get mistaken for a Belgian (no hard G in south of NL). Had a C5 V6 till august but leakage and timing belt made me part with her, great cruiser!

Having watched both videos of this series I can now confidently declare that you Sir are insane! haha, I thought I'd had a lot of cars.... My favorite was that older 50's British car you had in the previous video, that was very nice. Love the look of the Scimitar as well!

Quite a series! Love the French stuff. The BX turbo D reminded me of our first gen Peugeot 405 SRDTurbo, the 1.8 with intercooler. Indestructible, after 285000 miles still usually the fastest at traffic lights, consuming less then 1L oil between services. My dad sold it because he wanted an airco and leather seats, doing 30000+ miles a year.

I love your style, I tend to drive my cars into the ground and then sell or px them as scrap. You may know the A45 and the Swan island, well I was about to px my failing Cavalier and just needed to get it to a dealership in Hay Mills when on hitting the crest of the hill the Cavalier's engine seized. Not to be discouraged by this I rolled the car down the hill and gathered enough speed to arrive on the dealers car park as if nothing had happened. I exchanged keys and departed with a knowing smile - don't ever buy a car off me :)

We had a rover 600 diesel for shunting trailers around the farm. As an ex taxi it had a bazillion miles on it but we could run it on red diesel and it was a trusted workhorse for many years. Sadly getting water in the fuel system let to it's demise. I did like it though, extremely comfortable.

Many Citroens . Have you looked at the current Citroen new cars? Have all the innovative designers and engineers been retired or sacked? It seems iPhone connection is now more important than hydropneumatic suspension.

Citroen has developed a new type of shock absorber which they've fitted to the new C4 Cactus. It's a cheaper, simpler system than the hydropneumatic suspension previously fitted to various models, but seems to be a good enough compromise. www.citroen.co.uk/about-citroen/technology/progressive-hydraulic-cushions

Your OCD with wipers is hilarious. I have to admit I'm a bit nuts about small details too, such as how good-looking the wing-mirrors are to how you select high-beams (pushing forward to fix high-beams in place is a deal-breaking no-no for me).

I had a Citroen ZX for 10 years and loved it, also a Xantia estate in which I did 188,000 miles. Both cost quite a bit in maintenance, which put me off Citroen’s although a fabulous ride in both, I could accelerate towards speed bumps! My favourite Citroen was the Traction, my french Granddad owned one - it was the first car I drove aged 15!

Excellent selection, I do wish you still had a BX, I wish I could have one for that matter. Only ever having a GS (X2) I have a real soft spot for them, even Mr. Stenhouse's TZD hasn't put me off. For a self confessed person of limited mechanical acuity, you have done remarkably well saving some iconic metal that doesn't usually make headlines. I hope Mrs HubNut is very proud, she married a good 'un!

Fifteen years in thirteen minutes, and then eight years in ten minutes. I do like those Alfa 164's. Ooooh, a Scimitar, Princess Anne had one of those y'know ;) That E-reg blue BX estate was the first video of yours that I ever watched, and I've been hooked since! I remember the yellow Sirion. So I've been subbed since early 2015...Crikey, that's flown by. A lot has changed in my life since then, thankfully not my dreadful taste in cars. Looking forward to the new collection this weekend - you mentioned it was in London (unsure of my current work commitments, but I should be free) - was just going to offer my help if you needed it. I'll be hopeless with a majority of mechanical stuff, but can provide a decent cuppa and cake. The most important bits. Have fun!

Lexus and TWC was when I discovered your channel. Which was added to my collection of varied channels. My favourite is Ellie, TWC coming 2nd, my regular vehicle is a "Poogeot" Partner 1.6 Diesel turbo, very accommodating and quite fuel efficient, that is apart from the Scooter India Limited's(one broken needing an engine strip to replace a leaking crankshaft seal)the other custom one along with the motorcycle, an old Bonny 750; all SORN at this time of year. May get around to sorting the seal at some juncture, we shall see. They don't make seals like they used to, only done 4000miles on a rebuilt engine, which I built using many new parts when I restored her a few years ago. Don't really do a lot of mileage, as I have settled into Island life, had to go back to London recently for my mum's last remaining sister's funeral. Got a chance to catch up with a lot of relatives, who I haven't seen for a good few years since moving to the Island after both my parents passed away. That was a tough time as I had a serious motorcycle accident in between losing both my parents in a 10mth period. Me and the bike were delivered into a cast iron bollard by a post office van, who's driver had not seen me. Took me some months to recover from my injuries.

Oh wow! The Ford Maverick, those were sold here in NZ as a Nissan Terrano II. I had no idea that Ford rebadged them. Anyway in NZ, they had their own very specialised WOF (warrant of fitness) check sheet. The boot floor is double skinned and is prone to holding water, therefore the car rusts away. Theres still heaps of 1990s Nissans on the road in New Zealand, but the Terrano II is not one of them.

Agree about the 309. I had a GTI and the interior build quality was shyte. One example I remember was, the plastic panel around the central vents was not even shaped properly to fit the recess in the dash. Unbelievable! The handbrake had to be slacked off, because if you had any weight in the back it would engage when the rear suspension compressed! Then of course the lever rattled away merrily. The rattles in that car drove me to distraction. Great handling car though. Great to see all the cars you've owned Mr. Nut. Some right belters in there! Keep up the fine work.

I guess I'm like you I've had over 50 cars. I presently have 4 a 01 Toyota Camry. A 02 Ford Explorer. 01 Ford f250 7.3 l turbo diesel and an old 92 Dodge conversion van . although it's not been on the road in years. I've found that the title cost and taxes keep me from trading around like I did when I was younger. I'm disabled now and I guess I value reliability over speed now. But I sure wish I could afford even a rusty 2cv over here in the States.

More great fun with cars! You do enjoy wipers don't you! I once owned a Bluebird and kept that longer than any other car, ten years. Very few sadly are seen around these days.

There was NO PSCHOUUUU!!!! WTH??? Lol. Honestly, if you look at the designs of all those cars, who could argue that the Rover's, Alfa's and the Citroen's had the best-looking lines?? What good is a great car if you don't think it's sexy to look at??? Was that a Rover 75 station wagon(estate)? I didn't even know they made a wagon?? Always learning new things on this channel. Such wonderful pictures too. Let me go watch it again. Smiles.

Yes, the Rover 75 Wagon was called the Tourer. Quite a nice shape, especially in MG ZT form.

I recognise the Lexus pantograph wiper. My mom has a new style Yaris petrol non hybrid version and guess what, it has single pantograph wiper action. Quite a fun little car as it has a pleasant exhaust note.

Could you modify a Yaris pantograph to fit the 2CV ?
