Thats not embarrassing, it sounds awesome! My first car was a 3 cylinder Polo, and when a similar thing happened, I didn't fix it for 6 months........

This video had me cracking up at my desk. Quality stuff. Also, all good youtubers have a signture phrase they use to sign off their videos. I petition that henceforth yours should always be "thankyou for watching, see you again, farewell, PSHOOOOOOO" complete with spin and camera to the sky. Edit: you may or may not know me better as a character from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, or an animal themed name that buys terrible cars. I don't post that regularly so you might not of course.

loving the aural experience that is the Nippa. Glad you have still got it. Reminds me of my Marbella CLX ( the CLX is important Lol ) - I bought it because it was £500 cheaper than the equivalent Mk 1 Panda. Yes it was bouncy but it was fun and oh so cheap to run. I literally traveled the length of the country in that car - 40k miles in a couple of years - K495XNA holds fond memories for me.

I'm a big fan of form following function. Back in my motorcycling days, I used to love the way Japanese engines were made. It was like the metal was shrink fit to accommodate studs, etc. You could almost see what was behind depending on the shape of the bulges. That defines beauty to me.

Oh, that takes me back to my first car, a Mini Clubman estate automatic. Bought from a "friend". Within a week the engine nearly fell out and snapped the exhaust at the manifold. I remember driving from Kew to Hounslow after midnight, sounding like a 1920s Bentley. I got the exhaust replaced, but Mum and Dad had to pay for putting the engine back in securely.

It sounds awesome! I can imagine it become wearing after a bit though, especially on a long haul.

Please don't tell all my friends who like Harleys, but I totally agree with you on the noise they make, or lovely sound according to them.

Ha ha ha, what a noise! :-P My 998cc 3 cylinder Vauxhall Corsa made that same noise earlier in the year when the exhaust decided to fall to bits, unfortunately I had lots of rattling and banging too which wasn't so nice to hear. Two weeks before the exhaust fell to pieces it went through the MOT as an advisory, but when it went into the garage for inspection it was corroded everywhere, it all just feell to bits when you touched it, I think I would have failed my own car on the exhaust had I been the MOT chap! I expect that exhaust was original on the Nippa, I wouldn't have thought it ever needed one when my uncle had it!

Loved the noise of the Nippa, I could never let the oil circulate in my R56 mini with full non resonated exhaust, my neighbours were not so keen either.....

Sounds as bad as my dad's 80-something cavalier estate when it blew out the rust hole the front box, that was fun (though he did try to patch it up, unsuccessfully, with chemical metal!)... :P Can't wait to see the 2CV going again, much prefer the exhaust notes from the twinpot engines in those... :)

I spent many years selling parts for recreational vehicles. Dry rot is not nice. Hope you get your 2CV body back. Love that little car. I used to like loud exhaust systems. Must have gotten over it.

I like some of the odd cars you drive and I was wanting to suggest maybe you should change your format a little. Make more videos showing the interior and exterior of the cars, maybe tell us about it's history , its down sides , plus sides, what sort of repair it requires. Just my two cents . I think this might bring more views to your channel as well.

Mine was a rust bucket - 1982 GTL 5-speed 1.1L bought in 1990 - with a few problems I couldn't fix myself or afford to pay somebody else to fix (poor idle, non-functional cooling fan and leaning suspension) - the salesman saw me coming (I was young and this was the model i wanted), but it was comfy and drove nicely... until I drove into a gate post while hooning. Sold for scrap... and then 3 years later I saw it on the road (looking tidier than when I'd owned it) - felt gutted!
