Hubsan H501S GPS Drone! Any good in 2023?

I just pulled mine out of storage after six years. Bam, turned on, captured satellites and flew solid with no issues. Now with remote ID you'd need a remote ID module but a very cool drone.

What is a remote ID? Can this drone be flown without having any special licence ect?

@@grannysvids If you’re in the U.S. you would need to attach a remote identification module and register the drone to legally fly it. The U.S. has passed regulations that require anyone flying a drone to take an online test and for a drone of this size to be registered. :(

@@torontorc4637 ​ I caught the drone bug and was initially disappointed because, as you may know, in Canada🍁, certification is required to fly a drone like my Hubsan 501s, which exceeds 250g by 200g. So, I've ordered the new DJI Mini 2 SE on Amazon and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. - Bummer part is now I have an almost new (15 flight hours) H501s and a gorgeous H501A controller that will become wall art.

I had this drone,The Advanced Edition ,great drone stable,Rth worked great,always calibrate and follow the instructions and you wont have any problems. Camera 720p acceptable but you had to have a steady hand and good light conditions,the only bad thing was lots of bugs on the remote software and drone most people keeped on doing firmware upgrades,I did not as I had no issues. The Advanced remote is one of the best remotes I have used in 30 years of flying,it is made of aluminium and high quality rubber,all the switches give you the feeling of quality,the remote sticks are smooth and give a good feeling,All remotes should be like this and not made of cheap plastic that they are now. I have enjoyed this drone more than all my other drones as it is very simple and flies great,As for the video quality I have uploaded on KZbin the video quality that you can get with this drone. Great presentation as usual, Toronto RC....++++

My first drone was a Hubsan but never had this one. I just ordered it (the standard version) from Banggood that still sells it for just 90€. I want it just to have some fun with my little daughter and not fly the more expensive ones. Greetings my friend from Greece!

Awesome! I thought about buy brand new one or used one same as yours that i found on ebay. Hey, I want to ask you a question about this fpv monitor controller. Can this controller bind to any RC vehicles such as rock crawler truck, drift car, boat, etc with different receiver on the onboard?

Hej, har haft min 501s sedan 2017 och den har nu 120 flygtimmar och går utmärkt, den har visserligen fått sällskap av en kompis dji mini 2 se men dom verkar trivas ihop. Ha det bra ❤

Still flying mine for snits and giggles. The vid has always been jumpy so it's not worth doing video with. But simple flight is fun. I also had one of the early 109's X4 and it was like flying a Cadillac. I lost that one due to no RTH and strong winds aloft.

its a very good drone!! at the time i buy the fimi a3 instead but look now dont even see bateries avaliable for the fimi!! and the hubsan still going strong!! just upgrade antenas, bigger battery and some antena amps and go 5klm no problem in hubsan

I guess it's lived as long as it will, worn out so it's another scrapper !!!! If I buy it again to keep the multinational clongromerate bouyant I will be happy, yeah go back to this (I like it in white, can only get it in black on Banggood) and use my 5 batteries I got to fly all day!!! Sounds like a plan !!! Rob
