As a Minnesota native I have to say thank you. Thank you for showcasing our amazing state! People often ask me what's special about Minnesota and unless you've been there its hard to summarize. This video is the perfect summary of what makes it such an amazing place. From the wonderful cultural diversity to the farming to the amazing city of Duluth and finally the untouched beauty of the BWCA. This video will now be my answer to the question "What's special about Minnesota?"

As a native Minnesotan I can say that there may very well be some lakes or streams that one could drink out of safely, Lake Superior is not the first I'd choose and it might be close to last. Also: Thanks for coming to our state and showing the world a side of us beyond snow, the accent from Fargo, and Lake Bde Mke Ska.

When I was a kid, we went on a 5 day backpacking trip out in boundary waters with our youth group, our guide explained to us our only water resource for 5 days would be lake water. We were taught to go to the deepest part of the lake/middle of the lake and dip our nalgene in under the surface. Every lake had a unique flavor that grew more distinct the more pure lake water you tried. Some, much fishier than others, some tasted clean as bottled water. None of us got sick haha.

I love how many facets of MN you exhibited. The way you picked Hmong Market out of everything in the Twin Cities made me do a little cheer. Too many portrayals want a singular image. They cherry pick only the rural farmland, or the Minneapolis arts scene, or the white Norwegian-Americans, or the north woods. I now have a good video to show people when they ask about where I'm from :)

I moved to Minnesota over 30 years ago for school and stayed for love.My wife and I are both transplants that decided to not move back to the West coast or anywhere else. We live in Minneapolis and camp, fish, hike, etc all over the State. Somehow, you managed to capture all of our favorite spots and you even have one of the fishing lures I designed ( I am a fishing lure designer) in the background in the Brainerd segment . Well done. Love Huckberry btw. I worked 30 years in the clothing industry and now get most of my clothes from Huckberry.

Nicely done. Minnesota transplant living in NYC since 2019. Stint living in CA as well 2012-2014. Can't believe how many annoying people I have met on both coasts who quickly dismiss large swaths of the country inland as nothing more than flyover territory. There is a rich culture and history all across the USA, the stories just need to be told.
