Footage of Soviet Sukhoi 27 (Flanker) Shooting down an American F-15 (Eagle) over a city. In the video, the Soviet pilot shoots down the Eagle using his 30mm cannon. The American Pilot was unable to eject and crashed against the ground.

Actually BVR has least chance of hitting targets Dogfights in today's day and age dogfights are oddly common.Dogfight despite cultural belief still occurs quite commonly in today's modern age of air to air combat. The efficacy of BVR air-to-air missiles has been criticized. The increased success rate of BVR combat during Operation Desert Storm may have significantly depended on other factors, such as assistance of AWACS, NCTR system of F-15Cs, as well as enemy incompetence. One major issue with BVR is still unreliable IFF technology to this day (Identification friend or foe) which can cause massive friendly fire issue.
