I love GRAY’s mindset. He doesn’t feel bad that he debuted later than most, he just considers himself a late bloomer, and I think that is beautiful. This can be applied to so many things!! Like most of my friends from HS have already graduated from college, and I’m still studying my major b/c I took time out for myself, but I’m still pushing thru and I’ll get my degree too. I’m just a late bloomer 😤😤😤 thank you GRAY for saying that 😭😭😭

I wish young people in Korea could realise that being an idol isn't the only way to work in the music industry. Being an AOMG/H1GHR artist seems so fulfilling with creative freedom and mentorship from the older artists. It's not the biggest or the most profitable, but we can see that they enjoy everything. Apart from that, as Gray said, they can also consider working behind the scenes like being a producer.
@onnesha3 жыл бұрын
I think it's more complicated than that, majority of people prefer what you're talking about; having more freedom and being independent artists but a lot of people dream about being an idol and there's nothing wrong with that. There's room for both.
@villainoir3 жыл бұрын
@@onnesha Looking at how many ex-idols/ex-trainees regret pursuing that path, I stand with my point. Not all of them are successful and sometimes music can be something traumatic for them because of the bad experience. The way they can't enjoy the thing that they used to love is what's concerning for me. So, it's good to broaden the perspective before making a decision. I wish K-R&B and K-HipHop could gain more popularity too because it's very promising.
@onnesha3 жыл бұрын
@@villainoir yes I love both kpop and khiphop/rnb and I agree to what you're saying but it's not all black and white. Even though there's a lot of negative stories but there's a lot of artists who are proud of their idol background. Also the fact that the kpop industry is changing more day by day abd urging more freedom and independence to the artists. As I've said there's room for both and I adore both of the music.
@Cat-ru5so3 жыл бұрын
@@kimnana7272 ohh i agree with this alot but i can't say that majority of the rappers are transparent, just as there are good ones, there's also quite a few of bad ones. imo, newer groups feel like robots and are so rigid in variety shows im just like okay...but i dont think we can entirely blame them for being like that because one wrong action/word and they'll get cancelled and ripped apart by their so-called fans + knetz. Except for a few like ateez and other rookie groups there's not really much substance to the rookies these days as you said, the 2nd gen idols are definitely more "free" so most of their words dont feel scripted at all
@ashablue783 жыл бұрын
This is a much harder path to get success than idols. Idols have a little bit more stability with a company backing them. Young people in Korea know all of this and it’s a little patronizing of you to think that people don’t take everything into account when they pursue their dreams. Also nothing wrong with being an idol. So many have made great music and have fulfilling lives, stop projecting the unfortunate stories of a few onto the very many others

But now, at 30, I'm finding happiness in little things I would have never expected. Try not to spend too much time attempting to recapture lost things, instead, keep an open mind and find the beautiful things right infront of you. ❤ from a fellow late bloomer.
