Still have my dad's '49 Commodore. He bought it nearly new. Last tagged in '63. End snapped off the transmission input shaft. In '61, he worked in the missile silos in New Mexico and would race a fellow with a Studebaker Hawk back to town. He said the Hawk would run off from him at the start, but he always caught and passed him within a few miles once he hit overdrive.

I wish they would go back to the bench seats & the large, thin steering wheeks. Should come to our "Crusin' the Coast" event that they have every year here. Week long vintage car event.

Great old cars,,miss mine,,Classic design,,no cars compare with these and other old cars for distinct design. Still, this is my favorite old car and they were NASCAR Champions also

+Dick Buelow I wish I had been there earlier in the day. About half of the cars were touring around Chattanooga and the area taking in the sights. Still what was still there was amazing.

Great video thank you! I have to laugh at people who cover their cars at a car show when they are not there. They don't wanna get their cars dirty? 😆😃
@AndysJourneys3 жыл бұрын
I can understand it if it's a rare colour and all of the time that these people have spent restoring their cars. I do know some of these original colours are almost impossible to get these days. Thanks for coming by. :)

Probably had the experience of people vandalizing their car when they were not around, stealing parts, or allowing their kids to climb all over the car inside and out, scratching the paint and getting the upholstery dirty. Out of self protection they cover the car when not around, although I am afraid these days that wouldn't stop them.

@@mrdanforth3744 I since bought a 75 Checker Marathon and took it to a car show and I turn around, next thing I know a father opened the rear door and told his three kids to get in. I ordered all of them to get the hell far away from my property or the next time I promise this conversation will be very different.
