ahhh so many memories with this mall. Was the first mall me and my friends were allowed to walk around by ourselves while my mom shopped. Back when it was a popeyes to the right of the entrance and at&t to the left. Good times

It's wild to me that this mall is still standing, as it's been kind of desolate for years. It's weird, I moved from NJ to VA six years ago and the closest mall to me here reminds me so much of Hudson Mall: Patrick Henry Mall.

Why does Patrick Henry Mall remind you of Hudson Mall?

@@RawRealRetail Just gives me the same has-been feeling. I guess PH has some better stores but half the mall is usually empty when I go there.

@@TwinBleaks we visited Patrick Henry Mall 4 years ago and at that point in its life it was a thriving bustling mall. That sounds so weird to hear that it's emptying out like you say.

@@RawRealRetail Yeah, I've only lived here for the past 6 years so idk, I'm probably not the best authority on it lol. Could also be the times I go (I work weekends so never then) and how sparingly.

Intresting! It got your run of the mill left over 90s stores such as footlocker, bath and body works, and a gqmestop. Was intresting to see an oldnqvy and chickecheese to....

Nice! I usually don't see many videos of this mall. This one has non-traditional anchors, with most of them not having entrances inside the mall (kind of like Liberty Tree Mall). Good thing you went, because the owners plan to "de-mall" the property soon.

Hudson Mall is located along NJ 440 on the west side of Jersey City. While Hudson Mall is clean there is nothing unique or enticing about it, particularly with all of the retail available in Northern New Jersey and across the river in Manhattan. Hudson Mall is not someplace that shoppers would travel any distance to go to. Most of their shoppers probably live in the nearby sections of Jersey City or in Bayonne. In my opinion Hudson Mall would be better served by bringing in professional offices such as either doctors or accountants and financial planners into the vacant spaces. The customers or patients then might be incentivized to shop at the retail in the mall before or after their appointments. If they don't do that Hudson Mall will continue to just sort of exist and if it closed at some point few in Northern New Jersey or New York City would notice.

Yeah, before I moved to Bk, I lived in the Greenville area of Jersey city. This mall was walking distance.

I feel like they really could turn around this mall's fortunes by having entrances/exits for Staples, Chuck E Cheese, and especially Old Navy inside the mall. Windows would be good, too. They've managed to make occupied space look like shuttered vacancies. Just having windows would make the whole mall more lively.

It doesn't help that Newport Centre is in the upscale part of Jersey City, with all the huge office buildings and the Hudson waterfront, with a light rail station right there and PATH nearby, while the Hudson Mall is on the dreary Hackensack River waterfront far from rail transit.

Did you have any plans on doing ocean county mall again. They are currently going through some renovations.

We actually do. Not exactly sure when, but it's been over 2 years since we last did and it's time.

Well, it’s quite clean. Incredibly clean. Beyond that there’s not a lot to say. With no anchors and what appears a lack of inline stores, success does not appear to be likely. Another case of the land being worth more than the mall itself I expect. There in lies the issue. It’s a shame as I expect this was a great mall many years ago.

You gotta provide a little more info than that. Searching google doesn't provide answers, so why do you say this mall is closing soon? I'm genuinely curious.
