Great looking frame and cool of you to build it for North...... y’all seem like good friends 👍 Those bug holes would have looked fantastic on that dark frame filled with crushed turquoise or the blue chalk line powdered chalk, using the thin CA glue to set it.

Is the boiled linseed oil generally that dark? Is it available with that colour here in Italy as well for example?
@hudsonhertz7 күн бұрын
@@Kranos_HowTo the dark color of the wood wasn’t from the oil, it’s a dark wood regardless of the oil used.
@Kranos_HowTo7 күн бұрын
@@hudsonhertzIm pretty sure Im not that blind! The oil in that container seems quite dark. Not sure why you are saying the wood is on the darker side. To me its pretty lighter and it gets way darker after gets impregnated with that oil. Not sure what Im missing here. Anyway can you be more specific sbout the linseed oil you using. There are probably lots of types, are they?
@hudsonhertz7 күн бұрын
@@Kranos_HowTo Yeah I'm not sure if there are different boiled linseed oils or not. I've used three different kinds and they've all done the same thing.

@@hudsonhertz do you have vids where you use the same oil but the end result is way lighter? That oil looks like a burnt oil from a fast food 😁

My niece is coming to visit me very soon and I'd like to make a nice slingshot for her. She's 11y old. How old is your sister ? Can you tell me what fork's width is comfortable for her hands? Thanks
@hudsonhertz Жыл бұрын
I would say no more than maybe an 80mm fork width, I shoot a 95mm but with smaller hands your niece should be able to get away with and 80mm.

You did an awesome job on your last rifle and this project. If you don't mind advice. Try using a little less glue. Just make sure your surfaces are covered with a fine skim coat. .. there's a lady on KZbin if you really want to learn from a master at work who educates people then I have the ticket for you. I have been working with wood for close to 45 years and this gal is awesome. This woman called Jane is an all-around master. I would recommend her. I would do my own videos but I really don't have the time. Here's a link below. m.kzbin.info
