Did Bonsai break? If I remember correctly, Jimmy proposed 8b. I think it's been repeated once or twice since then too.
@paulrobinson874 жыл бұрын
Luke Skinner yes it did break after the first ascent. All ascents after the first ascent and post break have called the line v14!

@@paulrobinson87 oh rad! I didn't realize that. The drop knee looks so fucking sick on that line. Have you tried Out of the Furnace as well?

Tried Eurydice today. It’s Hard. I’ve done 10 v9s at this point, most at Hueco, and none has ever shut me own as bad as this one. I could make it to the second rail where the crux starts and fall every time. I spent over an hour trying to make the crux, but it’s just impossible for me right now.

When will you start rocking a pair of the Phantoms? :)
@noahale4 жыл бұрын
I've been curious about this as well. Maybe throughout development, they turned more into a shoe for Daniel and Paul just grew attached to the Oracle. I've tried them on (the Oracle) and they are definitely more suited to narrow feet like Paul's, whereas Daniel's feet are wider so maybe the balance they were trying to strike with the Phantom for wide and narrow feet ended up leaning more towards the wider end. That's just my theory since Daniel's been wearing various prototype Phantoms basically since the shoe was announced and I'm sure Paul could also have been wearing them this whole time if he wanted to. I'm super excited to try on the Phantoms. They just dropped on Evolv's website today (didn't want to order from out of country from Banana Fingers or some other place), so I'm finally picking a few pairs up to try on different sizes.

Cameron Cesa I really like the phantom for steep climbing! But I am really just a creature of habit. I have come to climb at my absolute best in the oracle and just really stick with what works for me :) however I have been wearing the phantom a bit here in Switzerland as well as back home in Colorado!

Sick work! I didn't know you were with Matt Fultz out there! Crushing man! Can't wait for 1k, are you the first to reach 1k or have Daniel and Jimmy and Nalle not keep track?
@paulrobinson874 жыл бұрын
I do believe that I will be the first to reach 1000. I am not 100 percent sure though so my plan is definitely not to claim to be the first to reach this goal. I will be the first person on 8a.nu to have logged 1000 ascents V11 and harder. Jimmy Webb and Daniel both have 8a.nu's that they consistently update. Nalle has a 27crags but does not update that regularly so cannot comment on him. neither of them have surpassed 1000. The only person who I could imagine would have done this would be Dai Koyamada or maybe Dave Graham.
@HaddenKurtz4 жыл бұрын
@@paulrobinson87 Ok cool, that's good to know. I know you and Dave have been in the game the longest, but Daniel and Jimmy and nalle make some really quick work of a lot of hard lines. Although I have a feeling drew ruana will be the future you, where he gets massive amounts of difficult climbs

I could live with the beats but the "lyrics" strongly contradict the fine and measured movements of yours. Maybe Bach next time? ;)
@matts.98094 жыл бұрын
Paul, have you considered tracks off of Wobtober II or East Atlanta Santa 3? I feel that those are more in time with your style of climbing.

The music/beats are fine, but the lyrics are... well, not classy. Loved the vid though, I just put it on mute and listened to surf rock with it!
