There is no music like this today..All junk and trash. Huey Lewis defined what cool was back then. He truly said it in his song "Hip to be Square" He didn't need any electronic enhanced voice stuff, this was all him. Loved him then and still do.

surprised more people haven't commented on how UNBELIEVABLY PERFECT everything about the live production in this is, not to mention the amazing musicianship. It sounds as though this is a studio recording, right down to the perfect snare drum sound...yet it's all live. These guys were gods.

Huey on top of his game back in the day. Who can forget the epic guitar solos of Chris Hayes or Mario Cipollina with his simple but powerful base notes as he wore his sun glasses with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth. Bill Gibson was never known as a flashy drummer, but he was always in the pocket with his groove driving the beat. Just a real shame that Huey had his health issues. Very dynamic group of musicians.

I can see why there was a suit involved with the music for both I Want a New Drug, and Ghostbusters theme by Ray Parker Jr. However the context of the songs were different where Huey Lewis' target demographic was for an older audiance and Ray Parker's was designed for everyone. They're both damn good songs and they both deserve praise. 5 stars for both of them but i can now see why Huey Lewis sued for the music used in the Ghostbusters song....

Not so fast, Huey Lewis had been approached to do the theme song for Ghostbusters, 2 weeks not hearing from him after he wrote the first few melodies they dropped him from the contract, Ray Parker Jr just picked up where he left off. Huey Lewis then decided to sue Parker claiming plagiarism even though he wrote the theme for the movie not for Parker to make a song about!
