@lindyfralin hwound: It's not possible! I went to several Huey Lewis and the News concerts back in the 1980's and always left the venue feeling invigorated and super-charged by their music. I feel like the music they played reached into my soul in a way and looking back now, I consider those days to be some of the best days of my life. MAN, did we have a good time at his concerts!

They were at the top of their game in this concert. TOP was beyond awesome, Huey can make that harp talk like no one's business, and of course, they had the coolest bass player on the planet in Mario Cipollina.

Nick Wride That’s so cool 😎. I saw The News and TOP at the Arco Arena on New Year’s Eve 1988. Yeah it was a big arena but they still sounded awesome and did such a great show. At the end of this song Huey said “for the first time in 1989, you just heard The News!”

In and or about this time, I went to a concert that started with Jacob's Ladder. Nineteen Eighty-Four 1985 somewhere in there and I absolutely miss it. Thank you to the news and Mister Lewis. Awesome musical group

Lucky you! It was the Fore! tour they started with that one. That album came out in 1986 so you probably saw in '86 or '87. I have seen them seven times but my first was in '88. I would loved to have seen them earlier but I was considered too young by my parents. 🙁

@@philb4462I saw them New Year’s Eve 1988 at Arco Arena in Sacramento. Tower of Power actually opened up too. Was such an amazing show. When they played this song after midnight, Huey said “for the first time in 1989, you just heard The News!”

@@carlosconesa it was so awesome. I wanted to see them New Years Eve 1984 at the Oakland Coliseum but my dad wouldn’t let me go. So i was very happy to get to see them 1988. And what an amazing live band.

@@MrSpeed-lt8gr Oh man, 1984 would have been awesome. Not only I love Huey and the band, but the Tower of Power Horns are the TIGHTEST in the biz.

That synchronization on the jump at the beginning of the song is really cool, too. I'm not quite so crazy about really long solos during live performances, though. Sure, one of the cool things about live concerts is the spontaneity they allow, but I get to wondering 'why don't they get on with the rest of the song?'
