I believe 60's 70's were experimental while 50's was home to classics then in the 80's producers were able to mix and understood the format kids wanted. Then it was a decade of optimism and this helped a lot.

I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey, Paul!

Do ya like ice nine kills? Not really. Their early work was a little bit too scene for me but when the silver scream came out i really think they came into their own, commercially and artistically. @Wolf I said boomer *mentality,* not boomer age. Obviously a boomer would've lived through the 80s and not have to make the "born in the wrong generation" statement. When I said boomer mentality, I meant the ridiculous rose-tinted goggled nostalgia blind notion that all things were better "back then" and that modernity, no matter how many times it proves itself, just doesn't measure up. I replied to the comment to say what I believe, not to bash any particular individual. Not that modern life doesn't have it's problems, but if you think that culture is just hopelessly downhill from here then that doesn't help. What should we do? Ditch all our iPhones and DVD players and go back to cassetes? Would that really make the world better
