Huey Lewis is more talented than he has ever given himself credit for. He's so humble! I wish he were still able to play music, sing. It's such a sad loss for the world to not have Huey in our musical world anymore. He has Meniere's Disease and is losing his hearing. It really sucks because he is so Amazing!! I'll never get tired of listening to his music. Love you Huey!!

The irony of this is that Huey's previous band Clover was hired to back Elvis Costello on his debut album but both of the vocalists from Clover (Huey & Alex Call) weren't needed. Huey's instrument in the band was harmonica (also not needed on the album). So Huey and Alex just spent days seeing the sights of London while the rest of Clover was in the studio backing Costello. Thanks Dave and Harri.

The breath control needed for what he just did is incredible, and I didn't even know he could blow. As a harmonica player myself I have always looked up to the greats like Paul Butterfield, Lee Oskar, Micky Raphael, among others. I always liked Huey's singing, like him even more now. Thanks, Harri!

Wonderful display of Huey's talent on the harmonica, definitely sounded so amazing. He appeared on the 1978 Thin Lizzy album, " Live And Dangerous" playing harmonica under Bluesy Huey Lewis. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Dave. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

One of the greatest harmonica players right up with Peter wolf and pat Ramsey
@robertsoden50689 ай бұрын
Peter Wolf wasn't the harmonica player, he was the vocalist. Magic Dick played 'harp'.

Huey Lewis collaborated with Dick Dale (RIP) for the song "F Groove" on the album Unknown Territory (Which Rocks). The first time I heard the song I new it was Huey Lewis on the harmonica because he has a stylistic tell. It's at the 1:23 to 1:26 mark. Thank you for the reaction, I'd never seen this clip before.

Travis - Thanks for sharing, and now you have seen this clip of Huey. Enjoy the new addition to your collection.

Wow. That was amazing. I had no idea he was so great on the harmonica. Thanks for this Harri. Loved it. 👏👏🇨🇦

Harri, I too love harmonica and the best I have heard is Corky Siegel. Originally from the Siegel Schwall Blues Band out of Chicago in early seventies. I recommend his live 1984 version of Hey,Billie Jean which can be found on his YT channel. Another good one titled Love All Day Too You is on his self titled LP and can be found on YT. He plays fine piano also.

Me? I got nothing. I am entranced! Norton Buffalo is one of those guys who has played Harmonica for everyone from Jimmy Buffet to maybe Frank Zappa. It would not surprise me that Huey did too.
@davebzen7959 ай бұрын
Good point and the answer is yes, he did. Here is one: Under the name "Bluesy Huey Lewis", Huey played harmonica on Thin Lizzy's 1978 landmark album Live and Dangerous.

Parts of this really make me think of Too Many Zooz…an amazing instrumental trio, consisting of the worlds most amazing sax player, Leo P, a spectacular trumpeter, and a “1 man band” style drummer, who can do amazing things. You gotta check them out!!! They were giving away free 30 second concerts on the streets of New York City recently. They’re well known, and sort of world famous…but still busk in NY, in the subway, and on the street.
