These peoples stories are my absolute worst nightmare. I’m so incredibly lucky to be born into the family I was born in, but it shouldn’t be that way. Something I don’t understand is how people cannot see how fucked this is when it doesn’t directly affect them. Literally any of us could be in this kind of situation by a stroke of poor luck. And it’s not just that. The middle class is getting squeezed too.

Aussies have it a little better on the education front. (I paid about $20,000 for 6 years and a masters degree, using the federally backed hecs scheme where the repayments are salary based, paying nothing until about 50k) Everything else is similar though.
