Join us today for a winter plant tour around the first level of my home. I show you the mother plants we use for plant shop propagations. The monstera thai constellation has another two huge leaves -- the largest Monstera leaves in my collection measuring a whopping 24 to 36 inches long and 20 inches wide! MOMMA!
Whiskey makes a very vocal appearance and comes along on the inside mother plant tour! He loves his plants!
I hope you enjoy the video! We had a ton of fun making it!! Share in the comment section your FAVORITE plants! Let me know what ones you'd love to see for sale or ones you want to see growing in my plant shop. Or, chat about what plants you have your eye on!

The philodendron with hairy petioles is Squamiferum, Squam for short, I call mine squamsquatch. The Florida Ghost is a cross between Squamiferum and Pedatum.

Couple things .... and a question .... the first pellionia is a pulchra. Very underrated plant in my opinion. I had my p&j in a NE window and it absolutely white washed my plant so pls move your njoy before that happens. My question is about the hanging philodendrons. I can’t keep one healthy for long. They’re suppose to be easy care but mine start to bald on top and get scraggly looking within a few months and idk what I’m doing wrong. It has happened to my micans/Brasil/cream splash. Pls help🥺
@plantluxxe
@plantluxxe 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Naomi! Yes, that pellionia pulchra is awesome--so unique and interesting. I propagated about 25 of them for the shop. The props look even better than the other plant--it is CRAZY how that happens, but it makes sense- new soil, grow lights, etc. I think in the video I misspoke and called it a repens, but my repens is pulled back in another location. Anyway, fun fun fun. Love them both! The hanging philodendrons- they are off the charts and I am sooo blessed with those. Set it and forget it is my thing. They are pulled back from a north - east facing window about 20 feet. But windows are not blocked by any trees or anything so they get excellent lighting for this kind of plant. We cut them regularly to get them to bush out. They are between 5 to 2 years old. Yours CAN grow just like the ones you saw in the video (as long as they are getting good light, regular fertilizer, and water once a week. Chop and prop, grow the props in water. Transplant on top to cure boldness once the props are ready. Use sphagnum moss mixed with soil when giving your plant a "hair" transplant, hahahaha, We do this for some of out plants too sometimes. Philodendrons are notorious for "balding." This was a great question! Thanks for sharing! I am going to do a video on this because it is a common problem and I think many plant parents would like some advice on cures for plant balding. Thanks for watching!

@@plantluxxe Jackson G. would tell you to take him to the vet, he could have a urinary tract infection. I know of people that had cats like yours. We use to have a cat that would pea down the heat registers. She was jealous of our son (baby) but that was 30 years ago. She was a per bread Persian and was a woman's cat. We eventually had to rehome her.😢

Hello! I made a few monstera videos about this topic--check them out. You can propagate in soil, water, or sphagnum moss. The process is the same, just cut about 2 inches after the node and make sure the node is submerged. Use good soil! Thanks for watching!
