A GIANT pit bull has smashed a previous weight record at one of the US’ premier breeders. Romper is the pride of Tennessee-based ProBulls - a pit bull breeding and training company known for its huge dogs. Previously, the king of ProBulls was the 182-pound ‘Kong’, who unfortunately passed away two years ago. Now Kong’s son Romper has surpassed his father’s record, weighing in at an incredible 183.4 pounds.

These dogs are not muscular, they waddle around and seem to have trouble moving around. You claim to love these dogs, but I believe you’re just obsessed with having “the biggest”. The reason you don’t do bite work is because these dogs cannot physically handle it. The poor joints on these guys would just be destroyed if they did even half of the work ddk9 dogs do. If they were in good health, and of a normal body weight, I’d say good job, but these dogs couldn’t even outrun the damn owners. The bigger the dog, the more you have to protect the joints, make sure the pups don’t grow too fast and the growth plates get a chance to properly mature.

Does anyone else think Mastiffs (of any/every type) are put into the mix? Also, the high rear seems a bit 'off' aka unbalanced. Longevity and healthiest offspring in body and mind over many years is MOST important from a proper breeder (family dogs with pups are different). IMO a minimum of 80% of offspring aged 8 or older with zero heart, lung and hip dysplasia issues is required for a high price. Heck, I believe I could gain 20lbs and outweigh my father too, it would just a few more trips to that buffet I like....

Beyond just the weight issues, the structure of these dogs is a mess. Rears are way to high, front legs are too short - very bad structure for a massive dog's long term joint health. Seems like it's all about making money by having "the biggest" at the expense of everything else.

We have a pocket pup and our first xl, 31 lbs at 8 weeks. We've had one other "AM who was probably extreme. We are so depressed we didn't get a pup from him as he passed at only 8 in January. We want to become breeders. It's funny you and your wifes story is like ours. We got her first dog when we were dating. An English Bulldog..Weve had nearly every bully type breed but just love American Bullies. We mainly want to become breeder's as we just have a passion for this breed. We also never wish to lose another without at least having their blood line continue. Same happened with my amazing pit bull and Olde English Bulldogge which was one of the best built I've ever seen. It's a ton of work I can tell but worth it. Lucky you got that cool friend to help as well. Maybe one day I can come take a look, maybe even get a female as that's what we need right now .
