Kris, quite a challenge, one that I often attempt. Some thing I learned is to think of the problems you will encounter and try to start early. I'm working on Christmas now, so I can learn and improve on my early mistakes. Love the clock in the top background.

The clocks are always somewhere around the shop. I've had to move them as I reorganize but they're so nice to have sitting on a shelf. On this project, I did get started too late but it was a last-minute idea I had after printing a small one. It worked out in the end and I'll have this for years to come!

I just got one of these printers, well should be here in a few hours. Ideally I should have purchased a corexy design but twice the cost and my projects require a beast size printer. 500mm *3 is a tight fit. 600/800/1000 mm *3 would be ideal but lot more $$$ So last post was about 8-9 months ago. How are your t-500 printers holding up? are they a pita? unreliable? unstable? or so-so? or better?
@kerseyfabsАй бұрын
It's really a mixed bag. It can print well but there are several components that don't hold up, like the extruder arm. Mine also just had a problem with consistency in the end. I was always trying to get it to stop stringing or fix the ringing on the prints or something. I really got tired of fighting with it instead of just printing. Not a bad printer, just a lot of hassle for me.

@@kerseyfabs Well I finally got it assembled but when I go to print there isn't any documentation on usage. I mean zip, zero none. Being new to this technology I have many questions. for now I don't mind trying to print other's parts but eventually I'll need to create my own. For now the BIGGEST issue is parts don't stick to the printer bed. I tried different temps, using a jt16 glue stick, going through various calibration steps. but in the end the parts let loose and I have a tangled mess. Any suggestions

Very impressive!!!!! This printer has the same build capacity as the Creality CR-10S5, but how does it compare in print quality??

Thanks! It was a lot of fun putting it together.

Thats cool and the infill gives a in the clouds look with the light inside. That Sunlu does string, Ive given up trying to dial it out as its not blobby just angel hair, easy to remove lightly with a stainless scouring pad from the kitchen. (Oh, finally have Ender5+ running with BTT Minie3v3 TFT35, Shop fixed, took them 6 weeks!!!! Theres me thinking id gone nuts lol)

I had the same issue, the MOSFET was dead out of the box. I bought the same one you're using on Amazon.

Scale everything at the same time in the slicer

Typically, yes. This time, each piece would only fit on the bed individually and I kept tweaking my settings, so that didn't happen.

I've heard nothing but negative things about this printer since it came out. What are your current opinions of it?
@Gorilla_Jones11 ай бұрын
FYI, they are offering build plate replacements for everyone who jas this issue. I just bought one. 😁 Can you supply a link to the mosfet just in case.
@kerseyfabs11 ай бұрын
Here was the fix to their mosfet: Removing the "R17" resistor should fix the issue. If you need it, something like this one should work: amzn.to/3MYbqm7

This printer has been sort of a nightmare for me and quite a few others on r/t500 Bed not heating (r17) Bed bubbles like CRAZY Bed bubbles may be the issue with first layer adhesion as well. For some reason the first layer or 2 always want to peel away from the rest of the print, especially on the edges.
@kerseyfabs9 ай бұрын
The bed heating was definitely an issue! They acknowledged it and hopefully are providing replacement parts. I also just fixed a bunch of other parts including a broken extruder arm, burnt out/maybe melted fan, and a bad connection on the extruder motor. There has been a lot of maintenance on this machine so far.

I’ll probably try a Tronxy PEI plate on mine. The cutouts for the bolts are a bit annoying though.

The bolts are really nice when you're aligning the bed.

is anyone besides myself having problems in getting this printer to work, I'm a new owner and after 2 months I've had it with this thing. numerous print fails. And yes I've done countless setup and tuning cycles. Am I the only one or have others been fooled into buying one only to have fail after fail after fail?

Anyone else have big problems with the x-axis shifting layers? There's a lot of it on reddit but on youtube everything seems fine. Mine is impossible to get a useful print from. $900 IN THE TRASHBIN. Support from the company is nonexistent.
@kerseyfabs5 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear it! For me, it's about slowing down if it's shifting and, as a last resort, enable Z-hop.

@@kerseyfabs lucky you I can't get this thing to function at all right now, extruder keeps getting plugged up, or last week was x shifting on a print, or the week before that parts wouldn't stick....
