it has rained while driving the other day, no issues so far. i thought about that also when i 1st washed the car. and the soap made it to the little tray slot above the radiator. a little bit of water spots on the roto fab tube and the opposite side a few spots on the cover of the fuse box. but no issues so far. i’ve washed it a few times. i don’t hold the pressure washer at the front air dam for too long. hope that helps.

Have you had any issues with the gas struts still on the hood? I read it was recommended to remove those to not add undue stress to the carbon fiber hood

no issues so far and i’ve had the hood on for some years now, the car is a 2018 so if they happen to need to get replaced soon, i will be ready for it.

So I know I'm late to this and not sure if you still have the COPO hood on or if anyone else has asked a similar question yet I'll ask anyway. How was/is/has been the visibility/view from the drivers' seat? blind spots? turning right? crossing lanes of traffic at roads and streets that don't have stop lights? Just curious. I've been thinking about getting one yet don't want to risk an accident because of blocked visibility.

@@IvanDaniels-j9z what’s up bro, i still have it on, day 1 i was terrified driving it back from california lol, switching lanes to the right and turns on the right, but within a week of driving around and all the compliments i kept getting, i got used to it so quick, i feel it should have came this way from the start as an option. My other camaro doesn’t have this cowl hood, and i can completely see way more but for me, I wouldn’t do it no other way now that i’m used to it, almost feels like its always been there, that’s how much i’m used to it, everyone is different, i have yet to see someone online sell it for that reason, im sure there has been but most who buy the hood, love it. its very aggressive and depending what your plans are for the car, its 100% worth it. there is a different copo style hood for the 5th gen you need to use and it will line up with the conversion bumper. it is made for 2010-2015

You're getting more drag than anything. Better ways to lower your engine IETs. I'd look into better cooling management. You don't see Mclarens with scoops this size. Very few GT3 cars...

As a ZL1 owner it’s a shame you swapped the hood. It cheapens the car. Sorry IMO I know it’s a real Z but if I seen it going down the street I would think knock off Z. Especially with side badges. But your car, your style. Your choice

I have and a COPO car is made for drag racing not street legal. The COPO hood is for the The natural aspirated 427 and the supercharged 572 big block to give it room for that supercharger. A ZL1 is a road racing car. Also IMO why would you not get a SS 1LE and just add the supercharger to it? People pay the big money for a Z. The exposed carbon hood is part of that. Adding different hoods again cheapens the car. People that do not own a Z do things like that. I have seen a few nice add ins to the Z but IDK again as a ZL1 owner it’s just a shame. To each there own I guess. Also yours is a 2018 did the previous owner change the oil pump? If not you might look into that 2017-2018’s are prone to oil pump failure. I also seen your video with your check eng light is why I say that. And no car should burn oil especially a 2018 with 20k you have on the clock. You probably have issues in the rings on the pistons.

Honestly.. not a fan.. the cowl is too wide and odd shaped for my liking.. it really doesn't go very well with the lines of the car.. Looks out of place.. Looks like great quality stuff.. Just not my cup of tea.. Looks too goofy fast and furious for me.. But to each their own, have a great day bro!!
