Yep…they just reached a bad milestone. The point at which AI models have been actively capped in terms of general performance. 200 a month? You can basically see the different social classes in an AI world being created in real time. We couldn’t have working class people using the same models as the middle class and so forth could we?! D*ck move on OpenAI’s part. Seems to me that o1 is inferior to o1-preview…seems like they used that as the advert for it…now they’ve limited it noticeably

Hard not to think we have achieved AGI with o1’s capabilities, at least according to openAI’s definition. It’s waiting for us to deploy to real world applications and I honestly don’t know if it will be adopted quickly or just like any other technology in history, which means it takes at least a decade to get popular.

i dont think there will ever be an o2, o3, o4. the next maybe agentic model will be called a1, then maybe an innovator i1, then x1, etc. you get the gist. the marketing guy told them not to use actual version numbers cause the average consumer isnt interested in them. and that one always sounds better than anything else. remember xbox one? thats why everything is called one, and then nothing 2, 3, etc.

What if we map a brain and then connect a neuralink to a person and then merge the identities or not merge but what if the simulated brain is ran parallel to the flesh and connected using neuralink or synchron and then basically you could operate in the matrix and real world. @@Babeatrice Yeah. The way would be attaching a device to listen to the brain either invasive like neuralink or non invasive like on the outside like mri. A synchron device would listen by chilling in the vein between hemispheres. If the synchron listens then there’s no need for a full simulated brain but a real time reflection. Then it could be used for prosthetics or wearables or cars and games because the ai can utilize your thoughts and respond. If there was a neuralink then it could send info directly to the brain and help the many systems of the body and even share information and sensory information. This stuff will be the future.

the entire LLM could been built in the 1800s as a mechanical contraption covering a entire city where each module contain tousands of mechancial parts. the noise would have been horrible and the screen would be a giant frame full of rollers containing numbers and letters to print out the generated text. feedig data to the mechanical machine had to be transelating text into a hole pattern that could be used by the mechancial contraption to read the text. the training would be entirely mechanical. it would be all kind of mechanical noises in such a machine. it would need a kind of printer that hulls out hole pattern in a some paper that is then feed back into the machine to drive the mechanical transformer. all the vectors are gears leavers. each module would require a operator that manually crank it to make the machine run or a horse that walks in a circle to drive the module. it would take millions of operators to drive such a vintage version of a LLM. i only make the comparison to make people understand that LLMs are just like a old mechancial clock in that its all mechanistic.

I'll be much more impressed with AI vision when the AI can understand complex block diagrams and electrical schematics. Most models have full knowledge of the symbols and connection schemes involved (verified by having them provide descriptions and produce images where possible), but all of them I've tested have failed miserably. They hallucinate things that aren't in the diagram and fail to see others that are present. This goes for various image formats and PDF.

There was a lot of information to consider from this video. o1 is far from AGI. They keep changing the definition to equate their models. Can’t even get 10% on frontiermath benchmark. Even with test time compute. No real-time learning. Which is the key ingredient. Which means you have to solve backprop 😂. Not an easy problem. Yet it’s the true unlock. It infers that system could use test time compute to evolve into AGI and eventually ASI. No LM is remotely close to this……at least in frontier labs. AGI is a Gödel agent. Nothing less. Regardless who wins. It clear Amazon will..regardless. I bet Bezos can’t even contain himself😂, he’s literally been optimizing for this future for over a decade. FYI…people haven’t connected the dots. Future LM’s will be used to map and simulate the brain, consciousness will be the last modality we conquer.
