I think Avril did a splendid job of supervising this restoration. She inspected the parts after sand blasting, checked everything was there and then gave the final ok on the finished refurbishment - and just at the cost of a few cheesy biscuits ! What a star. You did an ok job on the restoration as well, but the cat definitely stole the show.

Of all the restoration channels, I really respect that you don't film the welding arc. It permanently destroys camera sensors so easily, and either cutting past it or filming the arc-light on the wall is perfectly fine. A wise choice all around!

I really prefer LADB over other "restoration"channels, becouse you usually really try to preserve as much original as can. But in this video you just cooly changed big wooden parts, which could have been still saveable if really wanted. Best part of your videos is when you replace small damaged bits of wood, there were now none of that. After all, great video. And God thanks you didn't "repaired" (ruined) it with epoxy like some other chanels!
@mred80024 жыл бұрын
Acticis Agreed on epoxy repairs, although it does have its uses, these ancient pieces would be very anachronistic. I understand your concern about salvaging components, but here I entirely agree with his judgement to replace badly deteriorating parts, as the structure and function were badly compromised. Love his attention to original methods and practices.

I really do enjoy watching your restorations, especially that you try to reuse as much of the old wooden parts as possible. Two things I'm thinking about: I might be nice to file down the cast markings and it might make sense to stabilize the old wooden parts with some polymer.

Rural France. At least while there are still French people there. Their politicians are traitors. Here's a pretty accurate diagnosis: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKbCmX-jYriFh9k And here's Èric Zemmour's speech: www.bitchute.com/video/TNQjg1Rph4T0

@@thunderstruck1078 I walked through rural France a few years ago, from the border with Spain near Perpignan to Arles, Apt, Gap, Briançon, and crossing the Italian border at Montgenévre. The French people were wonderful and I loved the experience. It was truly one of the highlights of my life. Everyone I met was French, true French. In every small town I passed through I was teated as an honored guest and made to feel at home. I mourn the loss of France that is coming unless people such as Le Pen gain more control over government policy.

There are plenty of shops with stuff like that all over Europe. It pays to keep an eye on people cleaning out houses when their grandma or such passed away - some people aren't interested in keeping the old stuff. Another option is to be on good terms with the waste disposal people - they'll give you a call if something interesting is brought in.

The videos are enjoyable and appreciated for their content and for what the represent to me, and others I'm sure. Oh, and I love where you get your cooling sand! I never knew France was so beautiful!
