Huge And Diverse Rare Plant Collection of Home (Sappasiri) in Bangkok, Thailand - Part 2

This is part 2 of a plant tour video of the collection by Mr Sappasiri Chaovanich, better known as Home. He is a passionate lifelong collector of many genus of plants, with a rare plant nursery under his belt. In this episode we discover many wonderful genus and species of aroids, bromeliads, palms, caudex, euphorbia, and more. His collection easily beat most botanical gardens in existence in terms of curation, collection, and rarity! I am most grateful to Mr Home for the gracious tour and the wealth of knowledge shared!

Those were (2) amazing videos. So so many amazing plants I've never seen before. You need to go back and do it again with more details. Maybe make it a series. Like a 15 part series cuz it truly so much. You passed by so many plants I wanted more information on (I know not really your fault due to time constraints). I'm just blown away by what I've seen here. I was particularly interested in what he has from Madagascar. He had so many plants from Madagascar. That island is just so unquine in its history of our planet. Including plants. Preservation being key. Absolutely fabulous videos. I'll be watching these again.

Its plant poles for climbing aroids to climb. Its made with a kind of synthetic felt fabric thats popular in Thailand

How does someone with a collection this size of plants so big deal with re potting? All my plants I have re potted are smaller and I’m curious how they handle it with such large plants and so many of them? Do they need to be re potted as often once they grow that big?

Wooh Ill try to ask next time when I am back. Theres not that many rare aroid shops in chatuchak, maybe a handful, its probably not that difficult to find. That being said none of the shops do have any label and the locations sometimes change every week.

As far as I know variegation occurs or is discovered in nature or in huge propagations. One of the plants may have a mistake with genetic expression and give variegation. Others have tried chemical and radiation variegation, however I found those results arent stable or long-term. The variegation also looks very off.

Thank you for your response! I’ve always been curious about the success and HISTORY of chemically induced plants and which ones are thriving exceptionally well. I apply a magnets(north)for generic dystrophic leafs. South pole gives me bigger leaves due to the increased nutrient absorption and increasing Ph. No luck variegation.
