For me personally, I use to put so much pressure on reading romance in February and summer romance when it was hot and thrillers in October. I overwhelmed myself and psyched myself out and would end up reading nothing. Now I don’t save books anymore for the “right time.” And if I don’t feel like reading then I binge tv or KZbin or whatever I feel like doing. It definitely keeps the slumps at bay for me. I just finally had to give myself permission to be the mood reader I know I am. I still make tbr’s and then giggle at my delusions later. Great haul!

I love a theme, so it's hard for me not to want to go all out with an opportunity like romance in February...but I do get overwhelmed pretty easily, which shuts me down, so I totally could have psyched myself out. Good news is, after a week long hiatus, I'm in the middle of a book now and really loving it, so I think we're back! lol

UK hardcovers go out of print fast! I believe her UK publishers, with the announcement of book three and the demand for the UK hardcovers from her readers, they worked together to republish the first two, but I don't think they're getting reprinted :(

That signed book is amazing! I love when you can interact with an author I also have been in a readingslump for a few days but then i made a challenge for myself set a timer each day to read for 1 hour but once i get going i just keep reading 😂 hope this helps with your readingslump

That's how I feel about Sons of Darkness by Gourav Mohanty! Everything about that book screams "BUY ME" and I grab it every time I see it, I just keep hesitating for some reason lol

UK hardbacks are usually printed for only one year so you might find it difficult to find the ballad of never after brand new! So you might have to get it second hand 😊

Look up the reviews before buying it, I almost bought it but it has like 2 stars on Goodreads and I couldn't bring myself to buy a book when there wasn't a single five star review

A good nonfiction memoir that is crazy but entertaining and informative is Educated by Tara Westover. I couldn’t recommend it more. I am a big fantasy and romance reader and I devoured it in a day!

I come across self published authors on tiktok sometimes. And Goodreads might be a good source as well. I've searched new releases a couple times and there's always SO many books that I don't see people talk about.
