I wouldn't. Too many accounts of maintenance issues with them. My brother was telling me how they were always breaking down in Iraq and Afghanistan when he was over there. And, I've seen too many stories from owners on the internet. I don't know how Matt got so lucky with his, but those things (and the Hummers that are LOOSELY based on the HUMVEE design) are maintenance nightmares. IF YOU ARE TO GET ONE, look for one from a shop that rebuilds them. I remembered seeing someone post videos from his shop on the work he does to correct all the mistakes and bad design choices in them, but that was YEARS ago, and I can't remember either the shop's or the channel's name.

If you had asked I or someone would have told you that the thirty year old Hummer was made by GM and has the same 6.2 litre diesel as the M1009 Blazer of the same time period and that if you contact Banks turbo they have single and duo turbo kits for M1009 and the Hummer.

The vehicle in the video that Matt owns/owned is not a Hummer. It is a Humvee. The Hummer was the non military commercial version and didn't share many parts with its military counterpart.

It was actually made by AM General. Only thing GM is the Diesel and Trans. Its got a Ford escort steering column in it. More of a Frankenstein vehicle than anything. I was sent through AM general tech training to be certified for the civilian Hummer. Very familiar with the vehicle. Biggest differences between mil and civ is 24volt system no turbo.
