HUGE Changes Coming To Quest V65! New Controllers, Scene Script Boundary & More!

Just as update v64 was released for Quest, update v65 PTC was released a week later, bringing some significant changes and hinting at major developments within the Quest. One notable addition is the potential support for third-party controllers, which could allow for haptic gloves on the Quest. Additionally, we'll take a look at the two new Pimax headsets and explore some of the new features coming in update v65.

Boundaries in rooms with low cellings at an angle are pain because you can only map walls that go straight up, I hope they will add something that will make this better than just remembering where you can smack your head

If they allow custom controllers the players can finally have hall effect sticks and buttons, we can even have cheaper camera sensor controllers too. I hope they open up on that front because comparison is best for the people.

This is amazing. I was able to get a Quest Pro for $400 USD brand new. I couldnt pass on that deal sinxe one quest pro controller cost $300 USD each. But i am definitely getting the Q3 for standalone and keeping my QPro for PC-VR only.

@@someguywithamustache7235 thebquest pro has very great facial/eye tracking. Its Amazing on VRChat and you can tell who had a pro lol. But for pcvr the pro is the way to go if you have a high end rig

The most exciting news this week for me is the pimax news. If Pimax can manufacture the crystal light in huge volumes then they become a threat to meta. Almost double the resolution is more important to me than all the gimmicky upgrades coming from meta.

I don't agree. To you double the resolution is so important, but the resolution on the Quest3 is already very good. For the price, you won't get a headset that has all the features the Quest3 has. Besides that, Meta Andrew Bozz once said that competition is a good thing...

I’m on v65. I’ve been looking for the new mapping features since v64 and still don’t have them. In fact, that clip is the only one circulating and so far no one has been able to say they’ve actually been able to automate mapping doors, windows, and furniture.

I don't care so much about third party controllers, although having a proper length and feel Golf club or Tennis racket, rifle pistol and so on would add loads to a game, even maybe a Bowling ball lol. My one and only real want is a working walkpad as now, I run out of space in my Home, even though I have a large games room, being able to walk with out needing to recentre myself every five minutes, would be great. I now have my Q3 setup where I can play for at least five hours straight and once Bobo make the 10,000mah batteries available for sale, I will no longer need to wait for x amount of hours to continue or allow friends or family members to play. I like to walk in a VR game and considering I can play Beat Sabre for 2 hours at a time, playing a FPS would be even better as having to bend, squat and run on the spot would make my wife so much happier and give her some room back :) I love the way you can play close to real life in a FPS, unlike the 2D monitor FPS experience that is pretty ordinary, unless playing a Dungeon crawler in the dark, like Eye of the Beholder gave us over three decades ago. I want that in VR, imagine all the people dying of Heart attacks, be so funny to watch on KZbin ;) Once they have made an under $2000AU walking/jogging pad, they can then work on all the other accessories.

The ability to use 3rd party controllers will allow manufacturers to allow the Quest to easily use 3d treadmills and haptic feedback units, or even 3d flight simulator controllers. Sony, take note!! PSVR2 still doesn't sell extra controllers in case one of yours break. This is probably a reason that they haven't been selling so many of the units. Need versatility and options to make a product attractive to consumers.

Yeah I use QGO on the Home app with the best resolution and it's 100% better... Idk why the home screen loads up in low resolution on the Quest 3...
