I know you say you don't like having to do this move, but based on what you have said it sound to me like it is the better move. Yes, it means a break on the channel, but you get a solid pay that is higher than what you would otherwise get. You are doing what you have to in terms of supporting yourself. You now get to see parts of the world that you would not normally be likely to get to, so that is a nice adventure for you i think.
