Metric/ decimal measurement disc is probably when we changed to metric so it's easier /quicker to find equivalent. Us 'oldies' still work in feet and iches rather than metres etc. May be from the 1970's . Love your charity shop. hauls

The disc is from around 1923. Samuel Fox started his business in 1842. The Paragon umbrella was produced in 1851 and, as it says on the disc, has been selling for 72 years. I've no idea what it's for though! Probably a handy little gadget given as a free gift for free advertising 😊

Hi Iwan! The chateau candle holder is likely from Switzerland. It's in the shape of a milk can and those homes are scattered all over the mountains. I love the pair of hammered brass candle holders. Very unusual design. Thank you for posting this today! It's a grey and cloudy dreary day and you and your cats are like a Ray of Sunshine! My New Year's Eve party was beyond Fabulous! Cranberry martinis in a cooler with a spigot and the "House" drink that night was Espresso Martinis! OMG so good! 😋 I met so many nice people and it was a glitzy affair. 3 ladies and 2 young men flew in from New York,; all are models. Good meeting them all. Charcuterie board in the kitchen was enormous and my friend has the event catered. All sorts of good things but my favorite were the salmon sushi rolls. Just a suggestion for your voile curtain- think about using a tea bag in warm water in the bowl. The result is a more natural antigue colour- just be careful and don't leave it in there for too long! Good luck x

When you repaint the doors ,I would paint the trim around the doors the same colour. It will make the doors seem larger and ceilings higher. You might want to paint the banister the same colour and do a tone on tone wallpaper on the wall . Therefore the wallpaper won't compete with your gallery wall you want to do.😊

Quick idea from the stair handrail and post. Spindles in and post in white, handrail could be stained dark wood or painted the same colour as the doors. This makes changing the colour easier when you fancy a change, as all the troublesome bits can remain white.

I think the loft staircase would look good painted the same color as the bedroom and bathroom doors. The big mirrors look great (and thumbs up for the way the chandelier reflects in the over-mantel mirror) and love, love love those German candle holders. I just had my kitchen renovated. I found a 12 x 12 in glass tile made up of 9 rows of different gray smaller tiles. My contractor cut the tiles into 3 rows of 3. We created a straight line between 3 x 4 inch white ceramic tile. I am so glad I decided to add the accent tiles. Your place looks great.

I think the little disc you have is just a handy conversion wheel from imperial to metric possibly dating back to the 60s or 70s. People in the UK worked from imperial measurements back then until we changed over to metric (some of us still do - l can’t weigh out baking ingredients in kilograms!) so the converters were given away by shops and businesses at the time. This company were probably taking advantage of an advertising opportunity!

Those German candle holders must shine beautifully lit, as they are stunning unlit! Great find! Also, I've taken a single curtain panel cut in half length wise and hemmed with no sew iron on tape. It looks lovely over the window itself. Place in a longer rod stretched over either side of the window over the wall. I makes the window look much wider! I do this with sheers over the window and panels over the walls, and they look much more expensive!

As usual I love to see the kittens, they are getting so big! I'm in love with them, and I'm saying this while Molly, one of my three cats is laying on my lap. I really loved the red shirt, and the big mirror looks fab. Please let us see the roof garden again, I love that space, even though it's just you watering the plants. I would also love a vlog on a daily routine, like breakfast, grocery shopping, playing with the kittens, some work, a walk around the neighbourhood or whatever you usually do. 😊

The little disks refer I think, to the umbrella makers Thomas Fox, started in the 1860s. I don't know too much about the history but the original shop still stands on London Wall! It's a listed building and the facia cannot be altered. It has a fantastic deeply curved window, and all the lettering is still in situ even though they no longer trade there. Great haul btw, I love the teardrop nightlight holders. They would great lit at night, amongst the plants on the roof garden! Cheers, Iwan!

Love the candle holders when we were in Munich last Christmas I did see them at the markets . They really glisten with tea lights in them . Also the tiles are lovely they should look really great . You do right getting sumone in Mr C!! I moved house and my partner was away at the time, and dint arrive back to help....so had to removed all tvs from the walls/and huge stereo speakers we used to have in the corners of the room......to get them to the nwe house and break every single one, trying to put them up with the kids!! (imagine big tvs, no stands to be on the ground, proped against the wall, while i try my best to put them up, and then BANG, they nose dive into the floor, screen first!!- oops!)

The tiles are very pretty. I think a tile or stencil in a similar style would look beautiful on your stair risers as you look up the stairs and would tie in beautifully with the blue doors. The mirror above the fire is perfect. The whole time I've watched I've thought you need a mirror there. Mirrors are magic is smaller spaces. I am a bit confused about your home style? You seem to be going for a more traditional look (kitchen shelf, the delft tile) but still have super modern things going on (new loo roll holders etc). I think stick to 1 style per room and edit the stuff that doesn’t fit ruthlessly looks best. Just my 2 cents 😂 I enjoy your videos whatever you do.

M husband remembers back in the 1980's, visiting the Fox's works in Stockbridge, Sheffield in the foot hills of the Pennines. They made top quality umbrellas. This was most likely a converter disc, handed out by their reps. A great little item tho' Mr Carrington!!

Love the mirror you hung over the mantle. Mirrors are great for making a room look bigger and hallways longer. The blue Delft tiles are really pretty and unique.I used to have a nice collection of it but I ended up giving it to one of my sisters because it really didn’t look that great with my coastal decor and most of it was dishes from the depression era. The side table was a great find and the candle holder for the rooftop garden is very pretty. You found so many nice things. Can’t wait to see your pound land haul. I would stain the banisters a dark colour rather then paint them. It will bring back a bit of authenticity to your house. Also it always looks classy.I love a mirror over the fireplace it just seems right.
