But trains are to dam long to be run threw a town at rush hour where people are coming and going to work 35min for train to pass is crazy if you ask me . i love trains but at times long very longs one need to go 55mph

That is awesome that you got the railroad employee into this! And quite the rail intersection. I don't think I've seen anything like it in North Dakota! And the ambulance waiting made me think of Rhame, ND: a small town which is regularly closed off by trains. The entrance to the town from the highway crosses two tracks: one of which is a siding used so trains can pass. I remember visiting there during their centennial celebration and two trains passed during the parade. There were so many people and cars on the wrong side of the tracks that missed the whole thing. I was glad I arrived early!

I drove for the Shawnee (OK) Ambulance Service one year while I was in college there. The town, of course, had tracks running through the middle of it. Most of the town had built up North of the tracks but the hospital was South of the tracks. Somebody (the town or railroad, don't know who) had put in an artificial underpass to one of the roads just a block from Main Street so that emergency vehicles could get from one side to the other even if a train was passing through. Only problem was the tunnel tended to flood in heavy rains.
@JawTooth3 жыл бұрын
I know of a town with the exact same thing you are talking about. I have filmed the bypass underpass in Carlisle Ohio a few times. When it rains hard they have to close off the bypass due to high water . Its a problem that happens with every big rainstorm there
