Back in 1987, we travelled to Junee on a school trip from Newcastle, we were in year 6. We stayed in this pub, spent a week here spending a lot of time up at the Monte Christo when it was in full swing. Reg Ryan was the publican at the time.... Best week of our lives. will never forget.

Hi The Local! I’ve discovered your channel recently (Through the Australian Pubs Project Facebook group) and have absolutely loved your videos! Very real and authentic storytelling of all these pubs, characters and communities who make up the soul of these pubs! I lived in Wagga and spent a lot of time in Junee as an avid trainspotter, and also spent time at various pubs in town enjoying the local hospitality. I do really hope to see the Junee Hotel pub have the revitalisation they’re aiming for! (Btw that split second drone shot over the railway station at 1:27-1:28 looks awfully familiar….. I’ll let that one go for now 😜)

Some very deep pockets needed as there restricted by Heritage Laws as to everything done, its an honourable venture sadly most people don't fully realise how hard renovating & running a pub is like plus the never ending amounts of money outlays that must happen and many quit ... hopefully they can get support from the locals to make this happen as Pubs like these are far & few between...

Just found this channel. Love it being a pommy bastard just love a local pub anywhere. These shitty gastro pubs ain't worth shit! No atmosphere. Not many proper pubs left anymore, your local.
