Truthfully other clubs do scumbag things and nobody talks about it. Real Madrid sold a few training grounds for £290 million to the local authorities back in 2001 when the club had to clear a debt of £177 million. Nobody said a thing and that's one of the dodgiest deals in football! AC Milan climbed to great heights when they were owned by that crooked Berlusconi. Everyone had a big chest when it came to Chelsea because British people couldn't stand seeing a Russian taking over their football and now City. When it comes to clubs with more history everyone tends to look the other way!

Lots of wild comparisons here. Systemically cheating the competition is much more serious than selling training grounds. Real Madrid are nicknamed the Francos and are generally hated for being a spoon fed from the Spanish establishment for their entire existence. AC Milan were implicated in Calciopoli, so they've been scrutinised and punished too. There are also many clubs out there that by and large do the right thing. Just because Man City are rotten doesn't mean we are too.

That was a shameful cheating situation and nobody cared because like you said they were always backed by the establishment. Also Real Madrid absolutely without a doubt was helped by the referee last year in multiple situations. Go watch their game against Almeria where they get 3 decisions their way which changed the outcome of the game and since it was such a robbery one player from Almeria said in an interview after the game:"today someone refused to let us win" implying that it was a robbery because it damn sure was and because he dared talking got suspended lol the scumbag La Liga is clearly not backing the little man.

It's not right, but they're levels, chelsea necer broke the rules outright, when they did they got punished. They circled the rules, looking for loopholes, wrong, but not illegal, they never lied. City are already guilty of 35 charges for being uncooperative with investigations - no if's or buts about it. That alone is worthy of booting them down to League 1, with a ban from cup competitions for 2+ years. The punishment needs to be harsh, if it's a fine or a insignificant it'll just be a 'operating cost' for other clubs to do the same.

Seems to be a pretty reasonable model if you just get a 1 season demotion for cheating your way to being one of the biggest clubs in the world from a team that was nowhere, to go down to a league you might have been in anyway for 1 season then up again with winning structure in place. That is if they are guilty of course. But still a model the rest of the clubs that have money but can't spend should aspire to. Just make sure if you cheat that you cheat loads and be totally unhelpful and sly so you get lots of time to build your club while they piss about trying to put the case together.

A guilty verdict alone is a massive punishment. Reputation and legacy destroyed. All bragging rights lost. What can you say when you're a City fan copping banter from friends and colleagues? Nothing, because you're proven cheats. Punishing them only puts their trophy challenges on hold for a few years anyway, it's the verdict that counts. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be punished, but the verdict alone is a severe magnitude.

Read the transcript of the CAS hearing. There was a time limit on only part of the case. The part that covered payments made by Etihad were judged to be legitimate as EUFA could not provide evidence to prove any inflated payments

@@adergas1 54 counts of lying about finances to defraud FFP, without going into all the other charges, that’s the evidence they found and there’s no way City’s lawyers will be able to argue that away as not a fact, so the question is whether City get punished for it and if so how severe it’ll be. Considering Everton got a points defection for one count of doing it one year whilst City have been doing it on a much, much larger scale over nearly a decade you’d expect the punishment to be as severe as possible. But we’ll have to wait and see. One thing that worries me is City were caught paying transfers and wages off the books (brown paper bags full of cash under tables etc) so if there’s no punishments we’ll all know why… But go and bury your heads in the sand if it makes you feel better
