@@samanthavenialogan179 coz there's multiple ways that have been found to have aerith in party late game and this just adds another to the list. Long gone are the days where you had to edit your game files or use a game shark. She actually works in most of the ways because there's been progress made in flag setting by just walking around in certain patterns and setting internal game data up to manipulate it. Basically a really advanced hyper complicated way of going to the Safari Zone and bugged your way out to Cinnabar Island so you could surf up and down the coast to fight crazy data pokemon. That can also be further manipulated with step manipulation to guarantee the outcome of what you fight AFTER the initial encounter. As someone who has manipulated ff7 data for 20 years my favorite late game party is Sephiroth, Aerith, and Chocobo. Chocobo is a bit buggy but that's just him being awkward. Sure, sometimes my game locks up when it comes to his turn but MOST of the time it doesn't. Him and Sephiroth are just Umaru from FF3 and I can't control them. They just go.

this is honestly insane, wackyest stuff i found out on my own was my copy of the game had no working disk two due to top scratches but still loaded was able to be read before it loaded anything, so i hotswapped disk 2 to 3 during the loading blackscreen to play it and it wasnt much different (other than all fmvs being wrong.) but never considered all this noise. neat

I always lvl up to like 25 and woop the midgar serpent and get the enemy skill with red xiii and have all of tifas clouds limit breaks most of reds most of barrets. Cloud surfing brings up some fun options. Everything between is easy when you grind right after leaving midgar. 🎉🎉

You also lose PHS forever and so if you use Aerith in your party at certain points and a scene starts where she locks the game, you're hosed. Example: if you have Aerith in the party when you do the skip, you cannot also have Tifa in your party. Otherwise, Tifa does not run up to you in the Northern Crater to enter your party and give you the chance to remove Aerith, who will freeze the Jenova Death scene if she's in your party. (Edit: Aerith also freezes her own death scene after the Jenova Life fight, so you can't have her in the party when you do the skip, and if you put her in after Life, you cannot also use Tifa.) Tl;dr - Don't have Aerith in your party when doing the skip, and it's probably best to just wait til you get the Highwind before you use her.
