That is awesome! I lost my dog Rusty on November 29th after I adopted him 7 1/2 years ago. He was 4 years old when I adopted him. He was 11 1/2 years old when he crossed the "Rainbow Bridge". 🌈 I miss him terribly & it is silent in my house without hearing his little paws on my floors. 💔😢But, he is in a better place & I will see him again...one day. It is just so emotionally tough. I won't be adopting another dog at this point in my life. Plan on doing more travelling...now that I'm 61. I am not ready for that huge responsibility again. I am an empty-nester & just want to be responsible for myself now. A different & wonderful chapter. 👍

Pollux was so nervous when he went inside the shelter. His tail and body stance told the whole story. He looked out the door and wanted to leave. Merry Christmas to you and your family and of course, both of the Boyz!

I'm guessing most shelters do what they can to care and love the dogs. But shelters are almost always loud with dogs barking and there are so many things that are so different to living in a home. Pollux was shaking and tail tucked because he had bad feelings and memories. I hope he didn't think he was going back. :-( I would have the shelter worker come visit Pollux out in car or leave him at home. But wonderful for all the donated bones for the shelter dogs. Our shelters and rescues are all full. Sounds like things are pretty good there :-)

What a wonderful gesture of goodwill shown to the McCracken Animal Shelter on behalf of Pollux's adoption. Happy to know there are less doggies than bones and the people are adopting from shelters. It makes my heart sing that Pollux has a loving & caring home, but his body tensed up while at the shelter ... I am sure the smells, noise & people there reminded him of his time spent there ... animals do remember 💖

I cried when Helen saw Pollack, so sweet that she walked him and nurtured him while he was in the shelter. I pray that those 70 plus dogs get adopted soon. My favorite video of the year! This was so sweet. Poor little Pollux was so scared at the shelter. I just brought my chihuahua to the shelter yesterday to meet another possible future pet and she was so scared for a whole day. I'm still trying to make up for it. We have to go back again on Monday for a meet for a special need very scared little girl. We hope we get her. This was so special Renee thank you.

I cannot thinking about dogs in shelter that long! Breaks my heart. I know folks that run shelters, fosters, captures in AZ, AR, KS, MO and they free up shelters often to make room for others. They are running free adoption for dogs in shelter over 30 days until Christmas. They do that several times a year to help bring in more with National Disasters, Hoarding Situations, etc. They do adoption events constantly at parks, Petsmart, downtown events every weekend. Hope this shelter will expand outside their box to get these dogs/cats adopted. KC goes to TX to help overcrowding and clear shelters, AR transport to states that have shortage to dogs to adopt. Love these dogs will get bones for Christmas…2 a piece. The Canadians live for their REAL Maple! 🍁 Love it! Merry Christmas to your entire KZbin family! ((Hugs)) to all fur babies. 🎄♥️🕊️

I'm celebrating Christmas with a Senior cat addition to the household. She'd spent 5.5 months at the shelter after losing her Senior owner. It's been fun to see her adjust to her new home & younger resident cat boyfriend. Cosey says thanks to the Grosse Ile Animal Control volunteers who took such great care of her while she waited for a new home.

This was a cool video. I wonder if the dogs barking in the shelter startled Pollux or brought back memories. I hope any dogs or cats in shelters are treated with care. Not all shelters are the same. I would love to see all the dogs enjoying their bones. Do they have enough blankets? I don't get why Pollux was not adopted for so long. I'm glad y'all rescued him. When Pollux struggled with Randy's boots it reminded me how dogs don't forget the people that weren't kind at shelters and hope all the shelter animals are treated with love and adopted by people who love them like you do. I know the shelter recently asked for blankets and sheets.....and when we arrived, they had a big wagon full of donated items. When the dogs would bark at the same time, Pollux did get a little spooked. I guess it's hard to forget some things. But I'm glad he went with me and saw Helen...and we made a big donation!

Renee, this was great timing of a video. I live in S.Carolina, and yesterday, I dropped off my yearly $100 donation check to our shelter. Prior to that, I did the same thing, cleaned out blankets, towels, and an old dog bed for them as well. I'm like you, I wish I could help them all. Unfortunately, our shelter has dogs all over the place, at barns and fosters everywhere. Hi Missy!!! The snowstorm was bad!!!! We got about 3 inches of snow (which isn't crazy big) but the wind chill right now is -21 degrees!!!! Yikes! I won't be going outside today even for a moment!!! Kendel and Thibaut made it home for 2 days...and they actually flew to Los Angeles yesterday to spend the holidays with Thibaut's family.

How awesome! There's nothing more heartwarming than being able to give of one's self and to help those who have little. Everyone's kind gift not only made the dogs happy at the shelter but it had to help those shelter workers feel the love of others, strengthening their choice in profession too! As an x-ray tech at a major hospital my favorite task was giving the patient a warmed blanket. These little gestures make a hard time bearable. Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi, I used to work at Amazon. When we enter order number the ticket of who sent it automatically comes out of a machine. What happens is the person filling the orders forgets to put notes inside boxes.
