"Not plugged In And Turned On" That has been Six Flags Arlington Texas Since 1979, The Last Year it was better than Disney World, like jerry jones cowboys, a 30 year disconnect next door to six flags over Texas.

My family of 4 went on Sunday and had issues with the regular food vendors being out of food. We got there at 2:30 and Granny's grill was out of hotdogs. That's the main product they sell there and the park was only open for 2 1/2 hours. About an hour later same thing at the Cheeto booth with pretzels. I agree on the lights, this was supposed to be there biggest and best but... One of the best parts was the North Pole area.

10:30 - Interesting that in the first spelunker section (prior to the battle with the pirates) they changed the song to the same version that's played at the very end (with the resounding ending).

The ride didn’t seem to be functioning properly. Lots of things have been fixed since I rode last, but there were some new weird things happening this time around with music and movement.

@@AmusementSource I get that. I've ridden the ride multiple times this year, and it seems like there is always at least one part that isn't working right. Next time that will be fixed, but something else will be wrong.

18:00 - I was there last night and tried to get a ice cream cookie sandwich from Miss Abby's. I was told that I didn't have the correct pass but I could get a discount. I made the point that I should be able to get a snack with my dining pass (I still have the old "2 meals + 1 snack" dining plan with my Diamond legacy membership). The employee tried my pass again, said that something probably wasn't working right, and just gave me the cookie sandwich.

Haven't been for HITP yet this year but I've gone the past few years in February when they still have all the decor and music and it's been a fun winter atmosphere in the cold. And no lines for anything!

I'm there with you in all of your thoughts. It's disappointing. I expected so much more. Was the train itself decorated? I'm comparing to Six Flags, Fiesta Texas. I have to say...Christmas is everywhere at Fiesta Tx. It's spectacular, and they keep on adding Christmas in every part of the park. I expected so much more from Six Flags Over Texas, being the first Six Flags park. I was a kid, living in Dallas, born the year they opened in 1961, yes, I'm old, but very young at heart. Moved to San Antonio, in the 80's. Six Flags Arlington still has the BEST log ride!! I've never had any issues with using the dining plan for meals listed under the meal deal, at Fiesta Texas. That would be a bummer.

The food issue has been a problem for years. It's part of the reason we stopped going, along with the surcharge for eating anything there. It's false advertising, and it's a sham practice. I'm hopeful that they are turning a corner, but they have to prove it as their credibility is shot.

I go all the time and I just love to bring homemade sandwiches and eat them in the parking lot. I then stay at the park for 4-5 hours then when I'm tired or hungry I just leave the park to either eat out or at home.

We just went last night (me and 4 YO) and we definitely had fun! Our focus was rides, so didn’t experience the food or shows much (although I really liked the Holly Jolly Trolley group on the carousel stage). But I agree that there are not as much lights as there used to be. It’s nice they had holiday overlays on a couple of rides, but I think they should have done more of them (like the log ride, which is perfect for that kind of thing!) Nostalgic me wishes they had the “snow” hill for people to sled down, as I have fond memories of it. I really wish they had handed out the event flyers to everyone as you’re walking in, or at the very least, put the special food and events on the app in the map. Also, $5 for one s’more is too much and should have been cheaper or free, especially for season pass holders. I’ll get off my soap box now and hope they continue to improve things in the future!

I had that soured moment a few years ago after waiting in line to order a basket of fries and saw they were doing that surcharge. Their explanation for it really rubbed me the wrong way, I took it as corporate throwing their employees under the bus for needing to pay them more. I haven't bought a food item there in years because of that, not that what they're offering is worth the price even without the surcharge. And these holiday events are a shadow of what they use to be, but I'm always impressed with how they manged to half ass a half assed attempt. The new coaster gives me hope though. SFOT has been under invested in for years, so getting something big is a nice change. Hope they make aesthetic improvements too and correct the laziness the former leadership had. That section with The Joker is awful.

I miss the traditional musical theater style at the Southern Palace. Now it's circus acts. And having mini shows outside with no seating or lighting in cold weather is just ridiculous and uncomfortable for watchers and performers.

If you're able to make a return visit I would love to hear your review of The krampus haunted house, I look forward to your reviews each year, and I'm sad you still haven't been through these because I think they're Christmas haunted house is better than Fright fest 😕
