The Chinese Indonesian from Bandung speaks Sundanese, and Medan Chinese speaks with strong Malay-accented Indonesian, they are almost sound funny to other Indonesian Chinese, especially those from Jakarta. I was initially mocked for my East Javan accent when I moved to the capital back in my childhood. I was never more proud of Indonesia when I went to Papua, where people looked very different than the rest of Indonesia, yet everybody there speaks Indonesian, including all the outsiders like Javanese, Sundanese, Bugis, can't feel even more united than that.

Rice has a high level of carbohydrate and sugar. Most of Indonesian food has a lot of carbo and relatively few protein. That's why the foreigner whose diet consist of a lot of protein and a few carbo is easier to gain weight in Indonesia. Although Indonesian food is cheap, red meat is very expensive here. That's why we dont eat a lot of proteins. We can eat a lot of rice only with sambal, or even eat indomie instant noodle with rice. Carbo is our main calories intake, XD~

The Pop Chicken is special because it is cooked in coconut water with spices and then fried, doesn't have to be fried with coconut oil, any cooking oil is OK, just the coconut water makes it different

a bit more explanation for you guys, first of all inside the sekoteng is not pomegrenate but its called pacar cina which is a version of tapioca balls, and then lontong = rice cake wrapped in a banana leaf (she only said its rice), gulai = indonesian curry, the fried bilis fish = not a bigger version but it is large anchovies, petai = stinky beans. you need a better local andrew!
