Not a "spendy" treat but when my parents were alive we always gave chocolate covered cherries to my mama and cream drops to my daddy. This was a Christmas Eve tradition. Thanks for reminding me of that memory.

My family's Christmas morning tradition is a Breakfast, Ham & Cheese Strata (A dish that is made up of layers of bread, cheese, meat or vegetables over which a mixture of eggs and milk is poured) it is best to make it the day before and let all the ingredients blend. First person up on Christmas morning, takes the Strata out and pre-heats the oven. The aroma fills the house as you are opening the presents. It is delightful. A delicious one dish casserole that warms your soul. Merry Christmas & Best Wishes for the New Year from Canada 🇨🇦

Wow! You guys hit the motherload awesome finds and prices. I miss goodwill thrifting in AZ. That was tons pf fun. I furnished and decorating our whole house from thrifting and flipping some items. Moved back to hometown to take of aging Mom and the stores here are okay. I still thrift at least 2 times a week. Our family traditions for Christmas when the kids were little we all gathered at my parents house. On Christmas eve, we would have dinner and put the kids to bed and us adults played Taboo. It was a blast. We also decorated Christmas cookies with the kids. New traditions now, I spend 2 weeks baking cookies cakes and candy for hubby's 50 team members and they get a box full of goodies. The cookies are mostly my grandmothers recipes. We (family) gather on Christmas day now and after we eat we all play the white elephant gift exchange.

I agree with you. It's depressing going to Goodwill where I live since they did away with colored tag discounts. I've replaced Goodwill with a 2nd Ave. Thrift store. They give better discounts and reward you for every $100 you spend. They are run by Purple Hearts so I never mind donating to them either. I go less often to my local Goodwill but the last time I only bought 2 items and told the cashier I would not round off since they've changed their discount policy.
