cannot stop a hay fire, only way is to separate fire bales before others catch fire!

How in the hell did that happen? Can Hay Bales actually spontaneously ignite under certain circumstances? Maybe someone who knows about Hay ('cause I don't) can enlighten me here O.O

If hay gets wet enough it can potentially catch fire. Can't remember exactly how it happens so I'll let someone else chime in. Basically if it gets wet enough hay goes through a very exothermic reaction which releases a lot of heat which causes it to catch fire.

The hay also acts like an insulator which further traps heat.

A Heimdahl Some A Hole either lit a match and threw it, or dumped some linseed oil and when rags covered with the liquid they become hotter wt combustable...

Apparently none of these people know lol. Google is your friend but moist hay can have bacterial growth which produces heat, once over 150 degrees internally its very likely to spontaneously combust. You can't put it out

Eagle-Eyez Video Productions being one of the first 10 firefighters there I can tell you that those bales were of corn fodder and they were not covered and the fodder looked old.
