Good video 😊 Reminds me of the "work bee's" we had as a kid. Neighbors got together and moved from place to place splitting firewood until we all had enough firewood for the winter.

@@FirewoodInTheField Well since I have some experience on both I would say it depends on what kind of splits you like. I will also say without a doubt that for the size of rounds that you are splitting, I would go 17 VS all day long!

They are not super-far apart in price either (still expensive, but paying for quality) Thanks to tou for all your content on those machines! It's been really helpful and enjoyable!

I have a lot of sassafras on my property. It is a joy to cut and split. It makes a great fireplace or campfire wood but isn't the best for a furnace. It smells wonderful and I cut a lot of it. I mix it with hickory in the furnace and it makes it burn more evenly. Sycamore is easy to cut but is a bear to split unless you have a mechanical splitter. Friends make work go faster and you had a lot of expertise there.

Sassafras is a beautiful smell for sure. Definitely just a recreational firewood. mixing it with your hickory to make it more even burned is exactly the reason I mix all of my recreational wood. Gives the customer a little bit of flame heat and smells. Thanks for watching James.👊🏻

Hello Mike. I used the trailer to move the wood over to where we cut up all the big logs. It was stacked there in the first rows on the right when looking at my woodyard. Had to get all the quarters we noodled split and out of the way first. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
