Coolbeans... I listened to the antenna's construction video while traveling home yesterday. I too have thought of using a reflector with 2 meters, but to date have been put off by the rather large size needed for an effective reflector. You guys did it, so heck, I ahould at least give it a go. I like your mast. Looks like you borrowed a bit from a sailboat's mast that often uses a diamond truss to resist bending. 73 de kc2wvb

That sounds great! More detail about how we made the reflector: We used chicken wire, and put a bunch of pieces of chicken wire together with copper wire. We used carbon fiber tube supports to help it to stay flat, and soldered a BNC bulkhead to the reflector as a connection, it solders much better to the copper than the chicken wire. Then, cut the reflector with snips into a circle (or hexagon). finally, cut a small hole in the center and put a connector on it to attach to your antenna. after that, you are ready to use your reflector and antenna!

Ive enjoyed your videos of the antenna build. It would be great to talk to you on the radio sometime. I have an echolink connection KW4EMF-R to N2GE 145.190. Its on Mount Mitchell at 6600 ft. Its the high repeater east of the Mississippi. Give is a shout. 73 Roger KW4EMF.
