Welcome to LaSalle, Ontario! The Town of LaSalle is approximately 32,000 residents and shares the south-western municipal border with Windsor along the Detroit River. LaSalle originated as a farming settlement for French colonialists during the 1700s and was originally under the administration of the historic Town of Sandwich. LaSalle incorporated as a town in 1991 and has grown to become the second most populous municipality in Essex County. The landscape in LaSalle still contains many historical ribbon farms, Carolinian forests and many wetlands. LaSalle is very desirable place to live given its direct marine access to Detroit River, proximity to Windsor and its extensive multi-modal pathway and public park systems.
