Look at what happened to Skil after it was acquired by Bosch. They closed the US plants, moved production to China and basically killed the venerable US brand. Then they sold it off to Chervon. (A Chinese power tool company.) Bosch has a magic touch in their acquisitions.

FYI! Bosch uses Midea with a way higher sticker price! MIDEA has been in the USA for years, I have installed Bosh and Midea, the only difference is the color.

You are so right about the installer selling what their supplier sells. I have installed about 4 different brands from the 2 suppliers we have dealt with. No brand loyalty at the company I work for. It is features per dollar that they look for to clmpete in the market. And they sell what their suppliers sell.

A friend of mine has a bosch heat pump its been nothing but problems, first a leaking coil and most recently a board melt down that caught fire, bosch rep scrapped the condenser at 7yrs old.

I predict more Midea production. What do the Carrier pros think of their Midea equipment?

Haven’t gotten to mess with them a ton yet. The first time I saw one though (and I’ve seen a Lennox one as well) I remember thinking, “nooo way. This looks just like an Ameristar”. Then I got to looking and figured out it’s all midea

Made in Mexico, Condenser fans, made of a composite material that shreds, from wet freezing temperatures. Frequency Drives that burn up, from lack of cooling, from failures on an independent drive cooling system. Rather than using Proven Paddle flow switches, they use pressure differential switches, that can’t take exposure to moisture, that enters the switch through the Liquid Tite Cables.

Winner buying a winner is different than a winner buying an loser. Bosch AC have had issues but that is expected as they are a new to HVAC. Chrysler has struggled with quality for 50 years.

I know an ex-tech support guy for York and he said he left because of the poor management decision making. I think their coils have been trash for a long time. That crap will never go in my house. I’m still nursing my 1999 Trane 10 SEER units R-22. I despise where the industry is today. I blame Globalism for the current state of HVAC.

@@NewHVACGuide I think that parts manufactured overseas are made of cheap, compromised metals and plastics. Even if it’s built in the US, the parts come from other countries. Electronic components and circuit boards are way underbuilt and will not last long.

Sadly, Chinese are better made than American, period! The American made ego was just that ! EGO! American manufacturers are entitled and are backed up by the government but all products are not the best. It’s like Chevy to Toyota or Honda to Chrysler.
