I'm a paraplegic and my neighbours all congregate to take care of my front yard. Mowing, pruning etc. In summer, in the late afternoon, there's three separate neighbours who work on my yard. I provide the beers. I'm so very, very blessed. I love watching you help people who don't have anyone to help. Makes my heart happy. Cheers to you.

You are blessed... Compassion is a lost art. I watch my 84 year old neighbor walk out on her walker to her shed & come out with her mower & give the yard "a thrashing"(her words yesterday) with the leaves in the yard... 💪🙏💪... Keep the faith 🙏

As a disabled person I really appreciate your speach at the beginning of this video. Many "able-bodied" people judge things with out really thinking that other people live completely different lives. Not only do they judge but they don't even care to know/ask why something is the way it is. Don't judge a book by it's cover, read a bit and learn...

Please don't assume that because the neighbours don't help out, that they don't want to. I was the neighbour who came over to mow an elderly neighbours yard. After copping a swear word laden tirade and threats of physical violence because I was trespassing, I left the yard and have done no more to help that neighbour. Other neighbours have copped the same abuse. There is nothing we can do except watch the yard get worse.

I love watching the garden ‘bones’ emerge - the paths, the garden edging, etc. order emerging from the chaos 😊 Until recently I haven’t been able to help much with the lawn care around home due to arthritis, particularly in the back and hands. Hubby solved that for me with the purchaser of an electric mower. We needed a new one anyways. Our house block is pretty big, so hubby uses his ride on for the big spaces, but I can get in now and help with the fiddly bits, the front yard and the loooong driveway. The electric mower doesn’t vibrate like the petrol mowers and is a lot lighter to push for me, so I get in some good exercise now 😃 Keep doing what you do, I’m honoured to be a patreon of such a wonderful person ❤️

I’m 65. My husband passed away 3 years ago, 2 days after I had colon cancer surgery.. I live in half of my mother in law’s duplex and only pay utilities. I do everything I can to maintain the yard. She bought a new mower for me to use and I have an electric string trimmer and leaf blower that I use. I just recently was going through the garage and found a gas powered blower but the primer bulb was dry rot. So I used KZbin to learn how to replace it and bought new bulbs from Amazon. I have problems with my light knee, hip and shoulder, but I just take my time and work through it. Sometimes it takes me 3 days but I get it done. I know all about how health issues can impact mobility and lawn maintenance. You do a wonderfully kind thing.

Great job! This looked rough already and then add in setting up a camera, getting the right shot and angle and lighting, making sure the camera battery hasn't died or fallen over, moving the camera every couple of feet you cut... *phew* I'm tired just typing that! Very impressive and very satisfying! Awesome job and Howdy from Texas!

Wouldn't it be nice, now that it's back to a decent standard, if the neighbours on both sides would pitch in and keep it that way. They or somebody else mow their own yards. How difficult would it be to run the mower a little further over the next lawn? ps I'd love to know why that serpentine row of rocks is embedded in the lawn!

If I were a betting woman I would bet that the Misses once had a lovely flower garden there prior to the grass taking over.

@@jaykneegarner2479 very likely. I spotted the strap leaves of agapanthus closer to the house but they were so choked with grass, there was nothing to do but whipper snipper the lot.

In the time it took someone to write a nasty comment, they could have knocked on a door and said, could I take care of your lawn, free of charge. And all because somebody cared.

Next week when you go back to start on the back yard a little touch up on the front and the entire yard will be spot on! It’s looking great even with that weird grass.

It's a shame his neighbors won't help him. I live in the states and when we have a neighbor that just can't get out there anymore someone helps them keep the property up.

Worrying about how your yard looks and being unable to fix it can add to a persons illness with the stress. Its great to have people like you who take time out of their lives to help someone. You help to relieve a lot of anxiety.
