HUGE lego technic figure rollercoaster --with GOPRO camera ride--

As a kid I always wanted to build a huge LEGO technic rollercoasters, but I never had enough LEGO to try building one... until now.

After winning a large LEGO set in the eurobricks battle bot contest last year I decided that I now finally had enough LEGO to try building a rollercoaster, so I did!
I always try, but it's quite hard to be original since there's so many creative (AFOL)builders out there. But when I did some research and I found that no one had ever build a true rollercoaster scaled to accommodate technic figures I knew I found my challenge!
The main challenges of building one was the fact that there's no tracks made by LEGO to work on this scale.
I experimented with making tracks with various parts, but making curves never really worked like I wanted it to, and even a small radius turn took way to many parts.
And then it hit me... I don't NEED curved tracks! all I need is ways to make the cart change direction!
After that realization my brain exploded with fun and creative ways to do just that.
Not only does it take less parts because you can stay very compact, it's technically way more complex, interesting(to build), and more fun to watch.
The gopro ride was just to finish it all off, because who doesn't like to ride a rollercoaster !
This was my biggest MOC ever, and it took me extra long because I Had a "dark age" in the middel of the build, but in the end I'm extremely happy with the end result.

The only thing with camera view versus real life, is you can't turn the camera like a head. Otherwise the ride is confusing.

It's really creative and it would be loads of fun to have such a ride I think :) The overall looks of the model are also something to be proud of as it's basically a studless design. Marvellous!

I had a dream about a device like this once. It was hardly a thrill ride, but very compact, and it put 1 rider through a bunch of wacky orientations. In the dream, it was housed in a 3 story brick building, and slightly themed to be steampunk, but this is the closest thing I've ever seen to it. Dreams are bizarre business. :D Excellent work.

Many years ago (35 i think !!) i had the old technic race car...big chunky wheels...red adjustable seats and a moving engine...and i thought that was great.....now i see how far Lego has come it astounds me!

There's so much awesome creativity and ideas put into this. Meanwhile it took until now to get logo to design a wild mouse basically lol. The car useage is awesome. It comes off like one of those dark ride/coaster fusions and it ends up on a giant arm spinning which is just so wild! Then hanging upside down, only to be pushed down and straighten up is like one of those old full circulation track intamin drop towers like "Demon Drop" at Dorney Park, PA. If somebody ever built something like this irl i'd be the endless talk over everyone and their alleged "innovation."

Thank you!, As for keeping it... I'm a builder... I don't keep MOC's so it is going to get deconstructed as soon as I find the energy to do so :S Its huge, in the way and it is basically all the LEGO I have so I can't make anything els. I even ran out of black pin's at the end!!! XD This channel is my trophy hall ;-)

Not what I would call a roller coaster by long shot, but rather a multi action flat ride. A very interesting concept and very well executed. Just some of the transitions are a bit slow, but it is understandable due to the limitations of the motorized mechanisms. Great job!
