Any estimate for MPG at 80-90mph? Nobody drives below those speeds in Europe. 13? Thks.
@lizardodelaroux58636 ай бұрын
Im currently doing 21.4 on my 2.7 sasquatch. Did 25mpg between Chicago and NY. Thats just stock. I didn't swap anything, if anything, added more weight to the front swapping the plastic bumper with an all steel. Its all about how you drive it. Eco mode and coast when you can. Use the hills for momentum. Country roads do better than both city and highway driving.

The way you drive will give you far more gas mileage than any of these mods ever will. Most people who do these mods do it for performance and will negate any positive effects on mileage by driving more quickly and aggressively. I doubt you'll ever get your money back out of better mileage for the cost of these mods.

The MPG needs to be verified by the odometer and gas pump. The display on the dash is an estimated calculation. Should have filled the tank, installed the part, drove 200 miles, and then refilled the tank to get the MPG !!

Drive in EcoMode, and if you drive at the right gear-rpm ratio, you should see 22-25mpg. I’ve gotten 26 mpg on long drives, 24 mpg on town driving.

K&N filters flow better because they filter less. Which is REALLY a concern if you are running in dusty conditions.

If you’re looking for a commuter for gas mileage buy a car not an off road machine 😂 My Bronco works it hauls my boat Goes fishing/ camping/ pulls my flats boat in and out at a dirt boat launch Goes to the hardware and gets loaded with mulch or pvc pipes or whatever is needed to run a campground that day. Does some off road driving just for fun on occasion. Do I take care of it yes Keep it clean yes Do all my own filters and fluids yes I am not silly enough to think it was going to be good on fuel mileage though 😂 2021 Badlands 60k on the clock and running strong only motorcraft filters used. excellent fuel mileage is for Prius owners 😂
@ddrowdy7666 Жыл бұрын
K&N style filters KILL engines by allowing dirt to pass thru. NEVER run a K&N style filter on any motor that does NOT get torn down and rebuilt between races. If you go to look at a used car and it has one of those filters, walk away, fast.

I would not do K&N, the oils that are on it and the oils you have to reply will just it sucked into the block which will increase the silicone levels. Also it does filter less. Fust stay with stock

The K&N filter you installed is the wrong one. That is too large for that air inlet inside the box. There is a revised filter I think, but have not been able to find the part number for the 22+ bronco.

I second that’s you can see how loose it is in the video. It’s 1/4 to large and will leak air. All these online people are scams!!!

Premium fuel is less efficient than regular because it is harder to ignite. The advantage is you can run more timing or boost because it helps prevent detonation.

Seems strange that Ford would add that stupid auto stop/start in order to increase MPG, but they wouldn't make these intake/exhaust changes. Probably due to noise restrictions.

The K&N was a terrible fit on the bronco. It isn't just looser. It rattles. You can see him double thinking it after setting it in place. It has no room to lock down, allowing air in without it passing through the filter. So, yes it increases air throughput. Major pass. Also, consider what an offroad filter needs to deal with compared to an on road one. Higher throughput can mean less filtering, especially with a poor gasket fit, which means dust penetration. Something the tight fitting paper filters nearly entirely stop. You know what else increases horsepower and MPG? Not running an air filter at all. A death sentence for such a vehicle. There is a similar sized K&N with a metal strap screwband to snug up the gasket grip. I'd run that one over this one that is a supposed drop in, but because of the dust issues on off road vehicles, stay with good quality paper filters.

Yeah every time someone talks about K&N it makes me want one more but I keep hearing it’s not meant for reliability, it’s meant for performance and that means you get more dirt through the filter causing more damage and upkeep later on.
@christopherdimotsis10249 ай бұрын
Yep 👍 but one thing also if you live in the city and your not out on dusty roads there is less impact, plus if you have a high intake/snorkel it raises the intake level so your picking up less dirt and dust that’s gonna be closer to the ground…. But in the long run it’s definitely less protection but I’ve seen people with aftermarket intakes above 150k (had them installed before 30k) with no issues too. Environment, maintenance and driving habits will affect your reliability more than anything.
