I think it's safe to say KZbinrs were never meant to be taken seriously by mainstream culture no matter what. It's obvious that internet culture and more "traditional" culture are incompatible with one another. I have no idea if metal detectors can detect lead in food, but what I do know is that you can use atomic absorption or emission spectroscopy (I learned about AAS and ICP-OES) to detect elements at concentrations as low as parts per _billion_ which is important because for example, there can be no more than 10 ppb of arsenic in water as regulated by the FDA. I think you misunderstood his point. Change is a natural aspect of the human condition, and very few people ever feel complacent doing the exact same thing for years on end. People want to diverge and do other things, that's how we're built. We constantly need new distractions in order to refuel our self-fulfilment, and that includes art as well. Even the best artists change up their aesthetic or seek new outlets to exercise their creativity. Sure sometimes it's motivated by money, but a lot of times they're passionate about diversifying their craft.

Depends on the musician tho. Alot of the "popular" (not necessarily good musicians) today care about the money as much as the art if not more in some cases unfortunately. Some people also origin embody the ideal artist you described but just lose passion over time or find something they enjoy even more.
