Its always fascinating to learn how much time these guys have dedicated to master the art of clickbate headlines, fast paced content and visual effects to capture peoples attention span and exploit our hardwired vulnerabilities. Most of these streamers, platform owners and content creators like Mr.Beast seem like a good guys, so it would be interesting to know do they ever feel guilt about hooking so many people to watch literally billions of hours mindless entertainment just for the small spike of dopamine. Seems like a taboo subject in these interviews - while being the most obvious one. Jimmy clearly seems to be bothered that people only order fast food from his restaurants that will give them cancer, heart disease and diabetes on a global scale, instead buying the healthy options that they have. Seems a bit weird thing to celebrate, worship and get excited about. As entertaining and captivating as the videos may be, nowadays internet addiction is a very real problem affecting millions/billions of people everyday. These digital replacement therapies on a screen rob millions people of their real life achievements, good health, meaningful connection, true love and other priceless things in life. Is it wise to exploit kids and teenagers by making this content as addictive as possible, and turn our vulnerable youth into braindead consumers with 4 second attention span, with no social skills, poor sleep, bad health and unable to focus on their school, career and life full of real adventures?

This episode just shows how important the hosts are. This was so much different than the conversation he had with Rogan and both were extremely entertaining.
@96Logan2 жыл бұрын
I liked both, but Rogan's was better imo because he has learned over the years to let the guest speak more. There were so many times in this that Jimmy was trying to say something and he was cut off multiple times for a joke cracked by someone. It was frustrating. I love Andrew, but I feel his stand up personality side of being the one in full control during a show can bleed into stuff like this.

@@deebojones I actually do agree with you on that. Andrew's podcasts play out like a friend group where everyone cuts people off and is okay with getting cut off/jokes cracked. You don't get that feeling of the hosts not really listening or trying to strive away with questions to get to things they wanna talk about, instead of encouraging the guest with the right questions to make this whole 4 hours a pleasure to watch. This was the best episode ever. I’ve watched Jimmy for ages and it’s been mad to see him grow. I wish I could go back in time as I’ve been on this site from the start. I was told that I should get out more when I used to go on about KZbin. I used to stream on blogtv obsessively and I’d get told that it was weird and that I was one of those people who wanted to be on big brother. I use to put clips up of stand up and was told I’d burn material. I wish I’d listened to my gut feeling and carried on. Well done Mr Beast and also Andrew and the flagrant crew. You’re good guys, who are changing the game.
