I've experienced sleep paralysis A LOT over the years. Of course, being awake but unable to move causes a bit of panic but I've learned to stay calm and concentrate on making my body wake up. It's the freakiest feeling.

I had a friend stay on my couch for a few weeks (which would normally drive me nuts) but he worked for Cabot and gave me tons of free cheese, even after his stay. It was pretty sweet

On the topic of the Shadow People phenomena, there are studies being done on the hypnogogic state. Hypnogogia being the time just before sleep or just upon wakening. Often auditory and visual hallucinations accompany sleep paralysis. The thought is that the human mind projects subconscious thought as images, causing the apparitions. It's rather fascinating, I mean it is terrifying for those who suffer through it but it's interesting how the human mind works.

Hey MossBoss! I can Totally relate to your sleep paralysis story. I had one a few months ago and I saw a demon hovering over me. I couldn't move and I felt like I was already in his grasp. when I say demon I mean full on Griselbrand Demon with heavy breathing smelling like death and I felt his presence before I even looked over... I have sleep paralysis happen often, I'd say on average once a month, and I often see things when it happens. One thing that often appears is huge spiders in the corners of my room and I don't even have a fear of spiders.

I’ve remembered when I was 6-8 and I was “sleeping” then all of sudden I just “woke” up and couldn’t move and all I see was this huge dark “human” shadow and I was scared to death for over a month, nice to know I wasn’t crazy because it recently picked back up.

The reason people see stuff like that in sleep paralysis is because your mind is super alert, because your body can't do anything about it. Your mind becomes alert because you can't move your body so your mind activates its defensive-alert.

I'm in Minnesota, I have a crazy sleep paralysis story. The first time I got sleep paralysis I was 15 and had been living in a new house for a few months, this house was strange something about it was unsettling and I couldn't figure out what until I had this dream but I couldn't move or speak all I saw were three dogs running and barking at me. Once I was able to get out of it and move again being as young as I was I thought I was being possessed. But here's the real kicker I found out several weeks later that 3 dogs had died in my room from the previous owner of the house.

Not too long ago, I had a sleep paralysis episode. First time ever seeing anything, though. It was crawling out of a non-existant hole in the ceiling, and it looked like something related to delraich from marquadian masques, and it was just staring at me. Fortunately I was able to blink my eyes a few times, and I somehow blinked it out of existance. Other than that, my day kinda sucked.

A tip for sleep paralysis - try focusing on moving your toes first. once you are able to move them, you will be able to move again. trust me it works had sleep paralysis twice already. my first experience, i just closed my eyes again and prayed and thank God i was able to move again lol. the second time around, i followed what my friend told me (to focus on your toes) and it works. dont panic

I’ve had a couple strange encounters with ghosts in my lifetime. On was particularly memorable, not for good reasons though. I was about 7 years old at the time and I was living in San Francisco in an old 1910s Victorian house. My moms cousins were coming to sf from Reno for a concert. One of the cousins, her name is Logan, has a history with being able to see ghosts in peoples homes. At the time we had had a couple of other incidents with paranormal activity in a the house but nothing serious. We are playing a board game the night that my moms cousins arrive, at the table before the concert the next day. All of a sudden there is an awkward silence and we start laughing. Behind my cousin, my dad points and goes silence. A transparent old woman, maybe in her 70s wearing old 1930s Victorian clothes is walking up the stairs calmly with a knife. We stop playing the game immediately. We simply sit there and wait for whatever next to happen. Nobody says a word for 10 minutes. All of a sudden, the woman walks down the stairs with the same knife, completely calm, but the knife is covered in blood. She walks right through the front door and we never see her again. A couple days later we get a call from the insurance agency telling us that the woman who sold us the house had passed away. Her name was Pam. She was an old woman that had lived in the house for many many years and we did not know very much about her, let alone see her because all of the house business was done though her agent. Flash forward 2 years, the event that night has mostly been put behind us. We are doing house renovations in 3 rooms, which required us to tear apart some of the wallpaper in those rooms. Under the wallpaper we 5 old postcards and letters. We thought that this was a super cool find, as they were pretty antique. The words written on them are vague and hard to understand. There is one addressed to Pam from what we now know as one of her closest friends, Teresa. Teresa sends this postcard from Tennessee, with 4 words: sorry I couldn’t help. We then find another one from Pam that was never sent out with 3 words: I did it. In one of the letters, which was sent 4 years before the two postcards was from Pam to Teresa: My husband is very sick. That was all we found yet. Another 3 years later we are moving out of the house. We figured whoever moves in would want to replace the wallpaper, so we tear it down seeing if we can find any more letters or postcards. We find 2 more letters in the house. The first one is one month before the initial two postcards. It reads: my husband is in deep suffering. I need you to come help me as soon as I can. Through all of the letters and postcards, we decided that the night we saw an old woman walking up the stairs it was Pam going upstairs to kill her husband because he was very sick. That took a long time

(Storytime,Nightmare,SleepParalysis) In highschool I had a dream where i was the cameraman for this documentary team filming a town with a population of three wierd people. Its was dark and gloomy like it was about to storm as the sun set. After a couple jump scares one of the people attacked one of our members and i woke up. I was in my room but i wouldnt move and the sky looked the same as my dream. And the three villagers were standing over me. One above me and one on either side with their hands out infront of them like they were using me for warmth. (The head of my bed is agains the wall) Then the one above me bent down so its face was and inch maybe from mine and started yelling at me something i didnt understand. I remember feeling like my eardrums were going to pop but i shut my eyes and almost immediately there was silence. When i opened my eyes it was morning and my ears were ringing.

I don't think I have ever had sleep paralysis. Maybe one time. I remember having a dream. In the dream I died and then I woke up in my bed. But then something shadowy killed me while I was laying in the bed and i woke up again. I just laid there confused like "am I actually awake this time?" Lol

Moss boss, I’m a social worker and provide counseling services for traumatized youth. A client of mine told me about her sleep paralysis and seeing “shadow people.” I referred her to a psychiatrist and she cane back diagnosed with schizoeffective disorder. Not saying you have it, but it’s worth looking into. Would hate if something happened to you man

Awesome card pulls good sir 😆. If it helps, a while ago i also had what I think was a sleep paralysis moment. Basically what had happened was I wound up a pretty bad nightmare, so near the end of the said nightmare this "witch" type of woman was swiftly flying towards me and for whatever reason I decided it would be a great idea to just suddenly wake up. As I woke up I couldn't move but my eyes were wide open and staring down this same "witch" woman who just grinned and then vanished as I regained more control over my body. I wanna believe that it was sleep paralysis but now I have to admit that sometimes when I'm walking upstairs at night between the bathroom and my bedroom I get this bizzare "sixth sense" feeling that there's something watching me or behind me. Anyways, it's scary stuff to say the least.

My sister did walked in her sleep for years,mostly when she was a kid (8 or 9) until her late teens. It got so bad @ one point that our mom had to lock the doors @ night and hide the house key or my sister would go outside while sleepwalking.

BRO!!! Long time viewer, first time commenting, seriously this is my favorite video of yours yet, seriously loving the redonkulas deep thought content, I have some pretty outrageous ideals on not just life but the reality we weave within our own experiences. And the reason for the comment, on the idea of shadow people/creatures...I personally did a hellacious amount of drugs when I was a teenager mostly hallucinogenics. On a trip I thought I died, while having a mental collapse at the idea and feeling of no longer existing, a extra dimensional being cane to me and calmed my mind, after spending some time with it, I came to the conclusion that my nihilism was more closer to on point to the meaning of life the I initially thought, ever since, I now am able to see shadow people all the time, no substance needed, at this point I can mildly interact with them...I just wanted to say, as scary as they can look, I seriously doubt you were ever in danger. Never have I come across one who means any harm. Honestly if they realize you can see them they are more afraid then you would ever be. It’s almost like they are caught within a 4th dimension that exists within our own reality but as with a 2D to 3D being, they can see us, but unless you know where to look and how to see them, you’d never know that they are always around and likely closer then you would feel comfortable with.

yes I have a story just like that. I was overtaken by some energy from above while standing in the middle of my room in a lucid dream and it spread my arms out almost like Christ (I don't believe in religion) and my head went back and I was yelling for my mom but no words would come out and it was like something had control over me. I woke up shaking and sweating. but that was nothing compared to the one time I went into third-eye meditation and saw energy and auras for an entire day lol
