Man, I was excited to see these compact portable camping setups. I get the idea of a lighter weight to not have to lug around a heavier set up. @@skidoomxz550x Fair enough. I think many are disappointed, myself included, it is an aluminum cooking surface. Currently on the Blackstone website from an October 31, 2022 article, "All Blackstone gas griddles come with an unseasoned flat-top grill surface made of cold-rolled steel. Steel is an optimal surface for cooking on because it’s heavy-duty, it conducts heat well, and when seasoned properly, it provides an almost non-stick surface. Seasoning your griddle provides a hardened surface like a shell that protects the griddle over time." I guess Blackstone needs to update their website as not ALL Blackstones have a steel cooking surface. I recently found out the Blackstone electric griddles have a non-stick aluminum cook surface.

Both camping griddles are brilliant. Only problem is the aluminium griddles with nonstick. I get it is to save weight and would be really easy to clean. It just depends on how careful you are, how high temperature you use and how often you use it.

@@garretlewis4103I’ve got two camp chef 2 burner stoves and a carbon steel flat griddle to put on it. BUT if I get this new blackstone stove, I can consolidate down to one thing! 😊
@richthecardude946 ай бұрын
Camp chef had theirs out before blackstone I haven’t seen just a griddle alone model only the one with the side burner also aluminum looks similar but has a wind deflector like an d Coleman 2 burner stove nice video I’m sure it’s a great product but the 22 inch with stand and large bottle adapter is less than $35 more at Walmart more band for the buck and no special spatula or anything needed unlike this one having a coating on it if weight is an issue than this may be better but go with the 22 inch or 17 for tailgating camping yes it’s heavy but I’d rather add oil on metal than a coating that comes off in your food after time or one missed scrape with a metal fork

We always enjoy your videos! Thanks! HOWEVER, nonstick and plastic😢 NO THANKS!

Hi, Erik. I appreciate you watching. This is my personal channel. You don't have to feel obligated to buy things that I use. No pressure here. Have a great weekend!

Todd … for camping, boating, travel trailer, or tent. Do you recommend the adventure griddle combo with side burner or the straight griddle no side burner ?? JC

Nice job god bless not a fan of the aluminum

I was all excited until the aluminum griddle. The temps are too hard to maintain on aluminum.

They lost me with the aluminum. Weight shouldn’t be an issue since they are not for backpacking so I guess efficient heating is why they went with aluminum.

do you have link for the grease liner. All i can find are the 8 inch ones.

I wonder what it would take to manufacture a cast iron replacement

I dont like the aluminum with coating. Ive put pots/pans/kettles on top of normal steel griddles but that would damage coating. So now would only have the option to buy the one wirh a small griddle surface to still be able to use other cookware as needed.

Just saw these at Walmart yesterday in the camping section. The accessories also

Does it say anywhere in the literature, not to overheat the griddle in fear of ruining the coating?

So if you had to pick between this and the 22” which way are we headed?
@garretlewis41036 ай бұрын
As someone who carries a 17” Blackstone and a camp stove camping, I was interested when I saw this KZbin suggestion. You had me up until the point you stated it was an aluminum cook surface. Coated surface to me, equates to Teflon. Not good.

Aluminum and PFAS no thank you. Go to seasoned steel, and you have an amazing product and a new customer.

Reading the 1 and 2 star comments (totaling 13% of all reviews) mention a lack of quality control. Bubbles in the griddle top, parts breaking after 1 cook, screws stripped. Have you heard anything about that?
@airgun19746 ай бұрын
the hinges (not really a hinge but the thin plastic around the handle that says blackstone} that hold the handle on are very weak, and are super thin. Broke mine off already lifting it off a table.

Excited about these. Problem is which one do you get?
@praisehisawesomename7 ай бұрын
Good question. If it was me personally, and I didn’t work for Blackstone it would be the griddle, because I cook everything on the griddle top. However, there are people who still like to use a skillet for certain things like omelettes. Or, a coffee pot!the trade-off would be a smaller griddle with the combo. Hopefully that helps out out! Thanks for watching.

@praisehisawesomename That is exactly what I was thinking. Just get the griddle. I have a 17" inch original i've taken in the past with me camping. But this looks more convenient

I just picked up the 14" griddle with single burner. Ive seen different videos and am confused. Can I use metal spatulas and scrapers on the griddle or not. Some say teflon or plastic which melts. Which one?

I like it Todd I may get one

Ill pass until the steel griddle comes out. I already have enough of the aluminum non stick junk.

I’d be in 110% if the griddle wasn’t aluminum with non-stick.

I reached out to Blackstone via email, and they don't know anything about this 14-inch camping model. I could not locate it on the Walmart website either.

Awesome video, thanks! I just got the camp griddle with a sign Burner and I have "burning" question - if there isn't already, are they making a bag for these camp griddles?
@praisehisawesomename2 ай бұрын
Hi, Shaun. No bags yet. They are all-inclusive with the suitcase design BUT I can see that you, like me, want to protect it. I just wrap mine in a blanket or towel when in my vehicle. As for the future? Who knows. I'm not involved with development and Blackstone is a large company. I'll be excited to see an additions in the future. Thanks for watching!

Update: I was able to buy a griddle today 3/2/24 but I'm still looking for the plastic spatula, scraper etc. Every Walmart I have tried shows the two burner full griddle in stock but when I call them, they don't have it in stock. I can find the half griddle with side burner but I'm not interested in that model.
