Customer credit card debt 1.3 trillion, high inflation, and high interest rates slowing both gas and electric sales. LOT ROT, with oversupplied dealer lots. Especially $75-$100,000 SUV’s/trucks. No room for 2024. Motorcycle dealership same problems plus dealerships bought high less willing to discount

EVs are a dream for the government. - Tax for electricity - Tax per Kilometer - Constant monitoring - If you misbehave, car will not turn on.

You might well be right. Although I think they will only tax electricity for motion and not for anything else, everything else is correct. I still drive electric as non of these things have come in yet.

The economy runs out of juice is maybe more correct. EV sales has never been higher, although it's all from pure EV manufacturers as most legacy OEM seem to get everything wrong and doesn't make compelling EV. Hyundai/Kia has seen a growth in the order of 300% plus, Tesla, already the major player in the EV scene, increased their sales by almost 50% compared to last year, Geely, owner of Polestar and Volvo among others also saw a hike in 300%, Li Auto grew by 100% and the numbers goes on, but no one, I say NO ONE is buying VW crappy EV except corporations with long ties to the VAG leasing business and most other established auto makers seen the same development. Legacy Auto/OEM release and EV and fall flat on their faces as no one wants an EV that has an interface like a Blackberry from 1999.

When housing demand for electricity, will chargers be shut out? What happens when there is rolling blackouts?

Many people who are buying BEVs are also installing solar and PowerWalls , every home that does this reduces their electricity demand and that will allow 4 or 5 move BEVs to charge with no extra draw from the grid. In addition in many places electricity from wind and solar is in excess at certain times of the day and this surplus can be applied to BEV charging at special rates.

Just in care anyone hasn't figured it out, this video is full of nonsense. Not sure how they could get so many things wrong but ... whatever, I guess. Looks like something slapped together with chatgpt. Mostly what you are witnessing are legacy auto-company griping and moaning about not being able to compete with Tesla or Chinese EVs. Of course they are going to make up whatever excuses they can for being so phenomenally stupid over the last 10 years.

Remember " The competition is coming" ? Well the competitions offer was sht. Tesla has the number one selling car in the world ( not just EV's) . There is room for Hybrids for sure but Pure ICE is Over.

This story is so close to fabricated news it is shocking. All automakers that have been producing EVs have had increased sales of these vehicles. The exponential growth the Tesla has experienced as well as the sky high EV adoption rates in Norway and China lead legacy automakers to believe that they would experience the same growth. Though this growth is still true for Tesla, the Chinese automakers like BYD, Geely etc., and the Korean manufacturer Hyundai/Kia, the growth did not translate to GM and Ford of the US, and Nissan, who had substantial experience making EVs, of Japan. The growth has continued to be exponential for Tesla, BYD etc. and Hyundai, but less so as there were a lot more Evs placed on the market by lots of new players and old line automakers. So as a whole sales of EV has continued to rise significantly, growing by 50% over the millions of EVs sold in 2022. In places like Norway EV sales were 82.4% of the new car market, and in China they were 50%. Projections for 2024 for world wide sales of EV is near a doubling of what was sold in 2023. The "slowdown" you are sensationalizing is that the legacy automakers are failing to get traction with their offerings in the market. They will see an increase in EV sales. It just won't be EV sales even close to what Tesla is doing. And that was their big mistake. They went into 2023 with the expectation of having sales like Tesla, but didn't make products that could compete with Tesla. People didn't want their vehicles at the level they seem to want Teslas. If everyone wants a Cybertruck from Tesla, you really can't sell them a F-150 Lightning. And that is where all this talk about a "slowdown" is coming from. There is no EV slowdown. Legacy automakers, unless they can make EVs that people want to buy, are doomed to the trash heap of dead auto companies.
