I have some concerns about Watkin's too, but Duran is sadly not the answer as his eyes are focused on the horizon. Which is fine as he's done a great job of changing his attitude, and when he goes, I'll be tipping my hat and wishing him well.

I would actually prefer to sell Watkins in the summer and hold on to Duran. For a couple of reasons. Firstly, Duran's value is only going to up. And the only reason there is all this noise is because he wants to be the #1 striker. He can be the Villa #1 for years to come Secondly, Watkins is coming to an age where we'll need to replace him in a year or two anyway. If we have let Duran go and then have to replace Watkins I think it's going to cost a hell of a lot of money. Whereas if we hold on to Duran, and sell Watkins for around £30m, I think we'd be in a better position. Not that I want to see Watkins gone. I think he has been brilliant for Villa but I think given his age its only going downhill from here.

I would be gutted if we return to type and start selling our best players and our ambition to become a constant top six team, even challenging for the top spot further down the line. Duran is the future up front as Ollie isn’t getting any younger so why sell a hot prospect already here and improving. 100 million would be spent on what? The best players are over £50mil and we have one with Unai’s philosophy’s in his head already, swap for him unknown chance from some other team with other systems of play and philosophy’s in his head….doesn’t ring very well moving forward to me… Anyway what do I know, the club will make their decisions and we’ll just see what’s happens eh.🤞 UTV always UTV

So glad McGinn is back. Barry should be given minutes as a test. Especially whilst He's confident from his recent form. If Duran wanted to go to Saudi, I'd think negatively of him and be glad for £100m. No chance though. The guy is clearly ambitious though. I see him with us next season. Not many teams can afford him. I know its an unpopular opinion, but the time to move Watkins is in the summer. He's in his peak, we could well get £60m+ for him, and Duran has so much potential. This has been Emery/Monchi's way and has served us well. For me Duran is £100m+ for now, and could be irreplaceable (at any price ) in 2 seasons.

Selling Duran in this window now is simply not an option, if the need to sell is there in the summer then for huge money then maybe. Also allows time to bring in a quality replacement. The Centre Back situation is a serious concern, allowing Carlos to go fair enough but to not have a concrete replacement ready to come in isn’t looking a great move. With a week remaining of the window clubs are going to be very reluctant to allow their best players to leave. Skriniar on loan could have been a great option short term especially but he’s gone to Fernabache. Great to have SJM back !!

Duran will go at some point if we get a big offer for him I would say sell, its no good hanging onto him and with the money buy a class striker if possible, someone we know can perform already at the top level and someone not quite so hot headed, I can not be seeing ever Duran and Emery keeping a good relationship with each other, we do have forwards who could replace Watkins in an emergency should it be the case but I can't see Duran staying if there is a strong possibility we may not be in Europe next year if we don't start performing better than late. We are poor at the moment against teams we should be beating. UTV no matter what I hope all comes good!

Duran can't leave now, even for 100mil. That's too much pressure on Watkins to score. And he's shown he doesn't respond well. Too much pressure on the signing assuming we make one. Fans will be all over him. Having 100mil in our pocket won't be much consolation if Villa finish 10th. If we don't beat Celtic and have extra games, surely we have to sacrifice the FA cup. Can't risk injury and be so thin we limp across the finish line in May.

Totally agree with Luke about selling Duran if the money is right. I could be a million miles off with this, but I just get the vibe he could be trouble further down the line. McGinn being back aint huge. He offers absolutely nothing and he is a dreadful dreadful captain. Again another gerrard decision still we Haven't fixed. Got nothing against the bloke but hes 30 now, literally does the same bum roll every single game and barely scores or assists and doesn't lead anything in claret and blue. For me him, cash and mcginn need to be the next to go for psr benefit in the summer. Duran i dont want him to leave and for the life of me i dont trust monchi to spend that money but duran is beyond our level and if we sell him at least hell get to win a trophy and play for a team who want it more than us! I can see McGinn getting sent off vs Celtic, imagine how up for this game he’ll be 😂. Sick of the sell Watkins brigade, his goals and assists are vital, he could be the first Villa player to get 100 PL goals. Who realistically replaces him, Duran is a special talent and we can keep both. Not having it about his attitude, he cares and gets frustrated, so what, should never have been sent off. His temperament is getting better, Bailey, Ramsey, Cash, Olsen and Buendia need to be the upgrades.
